Hmm, local radio guy said the holes were so small you would have to roll the ballots up into a straw to get them in the bag. Those look bigger than straw sized holes but someone might notice a ballot rolled up to be stuffed in there.

... still not convinced that there was election fraud on Prosser's side... but, damn there is a small mountain of circumstantial evidence building that is pointing in that direction.

the fact that the serial numbers were crossed out and new numbers written in does sound a wee bit suspicious, methinks.

That would appear to be a large enough opening that you could literally "stuff" ballots into that bag. Of course, why would anyone ever want to do that, in that municipality, with it's 98% voting rate.

It doesn't matter if it actually happened at this point. The mere appearance of cheating has been imprinted in the public's mind. Like we've learned from steroids in baseball. The appearance of cheating and getting caught cheating are no different when it comes to public opinion.

not necessarily prosser's side, but the Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus, who has had this exact "clerical mistake" happen in that county before on her watch ...

How about the fact he's tried to block his own recount, which he can do as head of the Supreme Court?

that's either massive incompetence or deliberate malfeasance. either way, it's grounds to invalidate the entire election and hold another one.

Weaver95: that's either massive incompetence or deliberate malfeasance

What makes this so interesting is election after election, people have been saying this same line about the same lady in charge of the election in Waukesha.

This isn't even the first time this lady has discovered votes at the last minute to change the results of an election. Of the two, I'm going with massive incompetence based on the evidence we've seen. But saying her incompetence is massive doesn't quite cover it.

well either way, if the chain of custody is broken then either the election has to be redone OR all those votes have to be thrown out.

Are her tits massive too? This is an important question. She could be losing votes in her cleavage.

What kind of retarded State doesn't forsee that kind of obvious conflict of interest in it's proceedures and legislation

"When the ballot bags were taken out and placed upon the counting table, we were literally stunned,"

GODAMMIT SO MUCH...no, you were NOT "literally" stunned.

"5 out of the 6 ballot bags were almost literally wide open, and ballots could be clearly seen."

They were either wide-open or they weren't. If they were, then yes, they WERE "literally" wide-open, and there's no "almost" about it.

Or is this just one of those people who literally uses literally in literally ever literal sentence literally?

The gold standard for republican election theft was 2004.

The exit poll differential was the same as it was in the Ukraine when the US told them to redo the vote of face serious consequences.

Back when our country didn't allow state governments to overthrow local governments, we would have demanded an independent investigation in to this.

But we're not that country anymore.

i'm pretty sure that if the judge tried to shut down the recall election, he'd lose on the followup lawsuit. that's about as clear cut conflict of interest can possibly get.

Another brilliant quote from this woman, from her e-mail: This morning, at the Waukesha County recount, things began, as usual.

Wow. Sounds like a typical day, what with things beginning and all.

Wiki lists the Chief Justice as the Justice with the longest continuous service. There would be three Justices in line before Prosser.

In fact, the Wisconsin Supreme Court lists Justice Shirley Abrahamson as the Chief Justice. Prosser is the fourth ranking Justice. I seriously doubt he has the unilateral power as an Associate Justice to stop his own recount.

I guess Kloppenburg will object to Dane County ballots as well. Those torn ballot bags in Madison surely will receive an objection from her campaign.

Like I said before, since 2007 everything the GOP has done has been like something that would happen in a bad political sitcom. I would have to say something like a cross between Spin City and the Office.

Yeah even if this was a procedural farkup without any ill intent, if the recall doesn't put a victory margin such that discounting all the votes from that entire district doesn't affect it... do over.

It's almost like you're in Canada now, the number of elections you have.

Appeal to whom? It's not a federal matter, so it's unlikely the USSC would rule on it.

Impeachment would require a much larger shift in the legislature than even the most optimistic result of the current recalls can cause.

/voting for judges is idiotic
