"It's a little bit shocking to have it two doors down from my house, but then again, I also realize that anymore it seems to be two doors down from anybody's house," neighbor and retired Kansas City police officer Bob Dickerson said.

Did he retire because of a bullet to the frontal lobe? That's some fine observationing there, Lou.

Hmmm, TFA is seriously light on details. That leaves us to speculate what happened.

I'm going with a drunken MMA match with one too many roundhouse kicks to the head.

Missed one bachelor party where the groom-to-be had to be taken to the hospital for acute cocaine poisoning. Bonus: Two of the party-goers were arrested on DUIs while following the ambulance.

Well, subby, if the groom died from a gunshot wound. . . wrong figure of speech there.

phlegmmo: Two of the party-goers were arrested on DUIs while following the ambulance.

Damn ambulance chasers.

What he's saying is that while it seems shocking that someone would die in such bizarre circumstances a mere two doors down, in reality these things happen all the time at random, and it was just his neighborhood's turn.

What a freaking raw deal for everyone involved. I hope someone gets a greenlight on the follow-up when the coroner report comes in.

Wow. An earlier version of this story had no idea what kind of party it was but said that it might have been the victim's early birthday party. You'd think almost 2 full days after the incident they could assemble some sort of list of actual facts.

I can't believe nobody else caught that gem. Maybe they did, but it is such a huge thread that I can't be bothered to check.

Appears he's attempting to point-out that Diabetes II, if not rampant in one's own family, including one's wife and kids or grandkids, can strike anywhere.
