I knew the movement would devolve into petty crimes and vandalism. At least now the local municipalities are starting to get the laws passed to remove the squatters from the public areas. Living in Nashville, I really like going to the Capitol Building pavilion and eating my lunch before I Rollerblade. I haven't been able to enjoy these recent spring days there because of the stench and repulsive sight put off by the squatters. You know damn well that none of them give a shiat about politics or social movements. 90% of them are homeless and having the tent city gives them a consistent place to sleep, rather than battling each other for spots in the shelters and beneath the overpasses. I don't see why the State cannot use a flamethrower on the disgusting tents and piles of garbage. And I really don't see how holding the public areas hostage is going to advance any agenda but pissing off the real 99% who have careers and hobbies.

The graffiti has since been removed, and the billboard is back to advertising for KPCC.

In Summary;

- ctrl-f "occupy" = 0 matches
- TFA does not involve OWS or any occupy movement
- subby will submit blatantly false headlines for greens
- mods will green blatantly false headlines for lulz

Lots of mental wrangling in that thread trying to parse that anecdote. I personally prefer the Pocket Ninja approach though.

A lot of the billboards around town are bought in groups, so the ad company can sell billboards in the less affluent parts of town. I dont know if that was the case here, but KPCC might have had no idea they were buying a billboard by a competitor.
