It's a legendary MST3K episode, to be sure, but this movie is just so god awful that it's very hard to watch. I remember that at one point, Tom sort of laments "I think we've met our match." There are other episodes I'd much rather watch.

I actually saw a box set of 50 shiatty horror movies selling for like $10 at Walmart one day. It had this movie in it. As hard as it is to watch on MST3K, I can't imagine trying to watch it without the riffing.

There is a middle point that is best for riffing. Not bad enough that you can't sit through the movie even with the riffing but not good enough that there's nothing to riff on.

Although they did a pretty good job with Raiders and Jaws.

Alton Brown may be going. This and the Rifftrax crew will make this all kinds of awesome.

Too bad Manos is the reason for all of this. Ugh.

When it comes down to the "favorite episode" discussion, mine's gotta be Jack Frost. I'm with Eirik and thamike on this one.

It's great, no doubt, but yeah, it's not at the top of my episode list or even my Joel list.

Which is not to say that it's a bad episode. Certainly not. It's just that there are some episodes that - joke-wise - should have received the notoriety that Manos did.

Oh, definitely!

It's 20 minutes shorter than the actual episodes, but it's great for getting people hooked on the show.
