Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce in the first trailer for 'Lawless'. This looks so good, not even Shia LaBeouf's presence can ruin it

Never underestimate the movie-killing power of LaDouche.

I'm excited for the movie, but I don't think this is a good trailer. It's not very Hillcoat-ish.

'When?' said the moon to the stars in the sky
'Soon' said the wind that followed them all

'Who?' said the cloud that started to cry
'Me' said the rider as dry as a bone

'Who?' said the sun that melted the ground
'Why?' said the river that refused to run

'Where?' said the thunder without a sound
'Here' said the rider and took up his gun

'No' said the stars to the moon in the sky
'No' said the trees that started to moan

'No' said the dust that blinded his eyes
'Yes' said the rider as white as a bone

'No' said the moon that rose from his sleep
'No' said the cry of the dying sun

'No' said the planets that started to weep
'Yes' said the rider and laid down his gun

Personally I don't blame LeBeouf for any of the terrible films he's been in. That said, he hasn't convinced me as a leading man either.

Him and Gary Oldman can just step between roles and I never recognize them, it's amazing. And if there's one thing I do love, it's Oldman being bad.

Meh. Another movie romanticizing and glorifying criminal activity, and if that wasn't bad enough, it's got Shia LeBoeuf in it, too.

I'll give it a pass until it hits Netflix.

Yeah, it does. It's also really hard to like the character you're supposed to empathize with when the actor playing said character is such a dickhead douche.

A lot of focus on LaDouche in that trailer, does not bode well.

If you think that looks dull, you should stick to movies like Transformers or Battleship.

Excuse me, but I believe they've already made this movie. It's called Last Man Standing starring the versatile Bruce Willis.

I was listening to "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" a while back and he was the guest celebrity on that day. When he came on, I thought, "Who the hell is this?". I literally had no idea he was English. That man is THE best character actor I've ever seen. None of his own personality comes through in his roles. I've never seen him in a movie and thought, "that's Gary Oldman". Another favorite character actor of mine, although probably under-appreciated for being a character actor, is Brad Pitt. That being said, his personality does come through in his roles.

Gary Oldman. Wasn't he the guy that had his role of a lifetime in Tiptoes?

Guy Pearce making a comeback after The Time Machine essentially killed his career for a few years.

No, but asinine dynamic range can.

Without even a gunshot to be heard, they cranked the sound effects so loud I couldn't hear the dialogue. I get the idea they're trying to impress me using cheap bait.

Holy shiat, that was awesome. I've never even heard of that movie, but with both Peter Dinklage and Gary Oldman in it, I'll see it.

Wait, a historically-set film about a family of redneck criminals directed by John Hillcoat, co-written by Nick Cave and starring Guy Pierce?

I think I've seen this film before:

Besides the modern soundtrack (which hopefully didn't make it into the movie) this could be fun.
