| edmo I only travel to DC occasionally but could someone please describe where it's possible to go faster than farking 25 mph? |
||
| ZAZ A real hero would apply paint to the camera lenses instead of nearby trees. (And maybe get shot by cops guarding the ticket machine. That's what makes you a hero, being willing to die for your cause.) |

ZAZ: A real hero would apply paint to the camera lenses instead of nearby trees. (And maybe get shot by cops guarding the ticket machine. That's what makes you a hero, being willing to die for your cause.) ![]() Well OK, but I think some people are gonna disagree with you. |

| dahmers love zombie edmo: I only travel to DC occasionally but could someone please describe where it's possible to go faster than farking 25 mph? The Beltway around midnight. I think there's a rule that if you go slower than about eighty, other cars have the right to put you into the trees. |

Going from Laurel, MD to Springfield, VA in the afternoon takes about 1.5hrs. It only takes 1.25hrs to go from Springfield, VA to Parkville, MD (NE side of Baltimore Beltway) at 11PM-1AM |

If they are posting the camera's location the they should post signs also since these cameras are about "safety". Paint on a tree will come off with time naturally and with no malice involved it isn't vandalism. An orange X is a warning to fellow motorists, an orange "Pig Cam" could be construed as malice, still no permanent damage and no cost to anyone for removal. |

Agreed, painting a tree or whatever is not vandalism. I guess next they'll say turrorists did it. This is speed camera vandalism: |

![]() Orange paint? Pfft, amateur. They do it better across the pond... /image hot, like the camera |

I like your picture better though |

The cameras aren't being vandalized. That's a letdown. Across the pond, they throw an old tire over it, fill it with petrol, and light it. Cool gallery of vandalism here |

In this state its a felony to vandalize a speed/redlight camera. You'll end up getting cawk meat sammiches from big bob if you mess with the camera. |

If they had these things around here, I would do this too. |

Too bad the tax payers can't post the equivalent devices inside congress, and every other g'damn money grubbing "government" agency, to catch those bastards doing their shady criminal shyte. |
||
| KOOLmike
Ooooh, an orange X! That'll show those revenue sapping government types! |

| farkingismybusiness Wellon Dowd: Washington loves a man with a spray can. [www.thegmanifesto.com image 342x262] I got pissed when an old watering hole I used to visit replaced their bathroom stall that he got up on. They had no idea who he was and told them it belonged in a museum. |

| Eatin' Queer Fetuses for Jesus
IIRC in Cleveland, Ohio, they are required by law to have signs up warning of a speed or red light camera within a certain distance. |

FTA - "We would prefer that people slow down rather than vandalize government property," said Metropolitan Police spokesperson Gwendolyn Crump. Hahahaha! Then put up signs that warn people there are speed cameras ahead, but put these signs everywhere. Then have actual cops at random (high risk) locations as apposed to these cameras that a large percentage of the fines go to the companies who make them. F off you prick Gwen! You are not special. |
||

If they ever installed these cameras in NH they would be so riddled with buckshot that the state would have to increase property taxes through the roof. And ammunition sales would soar. I drive 5 to 10 over the limit and haven't gotten a ticket in over 20 years, and I drive safely, not like a 16 yr old on their cell phone. I passed 3 cruisers today and none even tapped their brakes. These camaras are for revenue only and you're farked for doing 36 in a 35 zone. Good luck with your millitant driving states. Driving a hair over the limit is not dangerous with the cars of today. /younger, new drivers do need to be reprimanded, not necessarily ticketed unless being jackasses. |
||
| turntable slave
They put mobile versions of these on the highways around DC as well. I don't live in DC, but just driving by I got a ticket for $100+ for doing 9-12 over, going with the flow of traffic. fark these revenue generators. It has nothing to do with safety. These things will go once people make it known that all politicians get voted out until these things are gone. |

Aren't there more high tech solutions to deal with these things instead of employing Congolese justice on them? High Energy Frequency Weapons perhaps? |

If they really only wanted people to slow down, they would also post a sign notifying the drivers of the camera ahead. If they still speed past the camera, then they deserve a ticket. |
||
| Trolljegeren
I certainly hope nobody starts drilling holes in the top of the camera housing and using a large funnel to fill the case with a slurry of hydraulic cement, because that would be awful. Almost as bad, but easier to do, would be filling the case with a salt water solution - so, I hope nobody does this either. |

Holy shiattamother god farking...they had these automated cameras when I lived in Denver. In white unmarked, totally unobvious vans. And I swear to God, I'd have rammed those farkers "accidentally" (of course), except...I wasn't 100% sure nobody was in the vans. And I didn't want to hurt anyone. But fark!!! Those farking...RRRRR!!! It's really more about revenue extraction than F*CK!!! . farkers. |

No, I only play soldier on the internet. But if I were I would recommend you support your troops. Actually bad idea, saw a guy say he was a fireman on facebook to get pu**y, and was facing jail time for pretending to be a public official. I don't want to accused of being one of those valor stealing douchebags. |

I've considered several ways of rendering the cameras around here inoperable. The burning tire would be awesome. Problem is, they've got them hung about 15' high on a pole, which means either a ladder or a rifle would be needed. Both would be difficult to employ without getting caught. Rifle too noisy, ladder too time-consuming. If anyone has any suggestions, please share. |

KOOLmike: Rifle too noisy, ladder too time-consuming. If anyone has any suggestions, please share. Rifle ladder. Or, failing that, a ladder-rifle. It's lose-lose. |

wagnerism: The cameras aren't being vandalized. That's a letdown. Across the pond, they throw an old tire over it, fill it with petrol, and light it. Cool gallery of vandalism here From the link: "Like all vandalised Gatsos in the area it was replaced shortly afterwards but the new camera has since been blown up using dynamite" That is how you become a speed camera folk hero. We need more of this kind of disobedience. Target these and red light cameras (especially in places where people voted them out, but legal wrangling forced them in and yellow lights were shortened to increase number of tickets -- I'm looking at you, Longview, WA.) until they can't afford to replace them anymore. |

KOOLmike: If anyone has any suggestions, please share. Expert rock climbers would be able to climb the poles without using ladders or anything of that sort. ![]() It's not recommended but it is possible. Another idea would be a pellet gun, crossbow, or a slingshot. |

One of these with an extra long metal cutting blade, a face shield and insulated gloves rated for up to 240V (just in case the power arcs through you to ground) \of course this would be highly illegal and you shouldn't do it \\you could also harm yourself or others as the pole falls or you could get electrocuted \and don't leave it in the road when it is down and put some wire nuts over the exposed wires so no one else gets zapped \\it would still be dangerous and illegal (this message was meant as humor and should not be carried out as it could kill some one and even if it didn't it would be vandalism) |

The camera don't work 'cause the vandals took the handles.... Must bust in early May; orders from the D.A. |
