Kobe Bryant will probably suit up and start tonight's Lakers game with four scrubs, which is totally to get ready for the playoffs and not even a little bit because he needs 38 to win the scoring title

It would be bad for me to wish a season / playoff ending injury on Kobe Bryant, but here we are.

Yeah, only a classless player could play in a meaningless game with a specific point total in mind in order to win the scoring title. If only Kobe was more like, say, David Robinson, who would never do such a thing.

of course he is. and we would all do it too. i just wish he need something a little more difficult to accomplish during the flow of the game, say 78 points. it would be interesting to see him play 1 on 5, glare at teammates that even faked a shot rather than passing the ball to him, etc.

Yeah fark the Lakers don't get me wrong, but let the guy go for a scoring record. He has worked his ass off this year to get it, let him go score 50.

This. Don't care for the Lakers, but he's gimped himself onto the court all year, and is in the running for the scoring title the last night of the season? WHO CARES.

No problem with that. If you're a coach and you have a chance to get one of your players an achievement in a game that ultimately doesn't matter, you're a dick if you don't give him a chance. You can't just puss out and be afraid of injuries.

Yea, because Kobe should sit tonight and concede the scoring title since his final regular season game is scheduled the day after the current scoring leader's last regular season game. The Thunder had nothing to gain by playing last night so why isn't anyone hating on Durant? He was already ahead of Kobe before he took the court. If it was the other way around no one would be biatching about this.

Hmmm, I'm going to assume that one of these is Bill Simmons, and the other is his alt.

Sacramento's pissed off enough already with threats of the team being moved out of town. You've already got people hacking Blake Griffin to hell, plus the Mettartest World Ron Interactive Fan Experience Something-Or-Other elbow to factor into it; I wouldn't be shocked if a Kings player just decided 'fark it, he thinks he can do that to us, he's going to get mugged'.

Well the only thing that makes me think maybe its not a dick move is that Durant was the scoring leader the last 2 years. So its not like you're ripping his first accomplishment.

How dare Kobe not play? What about the people in Sacramento who paid their hard earned money for a ticket?

I know you're joking, but anyone who voluntarily paid money for Kings tickets this year deserves to have lost their money.

Like I said upthread... something tells me they got word Sacramento was going to get chippy out of sheer spite and it's either lose him tonight or lose him for a lot longer after the Kings get done beating the shiat out of him.

bad foot, bad wrist, shoulder...yeah you're right. They were going to toss him around to spite him tonight. Let him sit and rest for what will be one of his last few playoff runs.

anyone dumb enough to pay for tickets to the last game of the year when your basement team is up against a contender damn well knows what they're getting into. These are the tickets season-ticket holders give away.

I hope he blows out his knee after a nice dunk over the 12th man for his 38th and 39th points of the evening. They can give him his award in rehab.

But, having been to some of those games at Arco, that's also when they give away tons of free shiat to the crowd. So there's that. Free T-shirt for watching a shiatty game, score!

Kobe is sitting out tonight.

Scoring 49 isn't really a challenge, so it is more important to set an example for the younger players

I hope Ramon plays less than 30 minutes, takes a lot of jumpers and stays out of the paint. Playoffs start Sunday? Woo-hoo!

These. I can't stand the Lakers (my roomate is a die hard fan, which may explain my disdain for them), but seriously who cares? Last game of the season, they have their playoff spot locked up, let Kobe go throw up 50 shots if he wants to. He has carried the organization since Shaq left.

Way to pay attention before trolling. That's why you got no bites. No, this isn't a bite. Unless you meant to do that, which you could totally claim you did...now.
