Al Qaida has thousands of new victims every day. I'd say he's avenged.

I think Republicans should run with this - claim that Obama is politicizing the war on terror and using scare tactics during an election campaign.

You know, because then they'll have to keep bringing up the whole "Osama's dead, Obama ordered it" part of things.

No, it's because it's coming up on the first anniversary of Osama's death.

Subby, you didn't go to school on a regular-sized bus, did you?

[withering sarcasm]

WHAT al-Qaeda? If there's more than half a dozen genuine al-Qaeda members out there any more, I'll personally sponsor them for US citizenship.

Now, if you're including all the groups who attached the monicker to their sad little terrorist groups to get the cachet, money and notoriety after 9/11, then maybe; but I seriously doubt that Osama bin Laden's "al-Qaeda" is anything but a wistful memory and a bunch of guys in the Pakistani Secret Police stirring up trouble.

The image at least admits that Obama isn't an American by slyly implying that Alaska and Hawaii aren't states at the time Obama issued the order to murder Osama.

I agree submitter.

Terrorism was only a threat when Bush was president.

Obama killed them all and now we have nothing to worry about.

To be fair, Clinton authorized the launch of cruise missiles whenever the press got on his ass about his infidelity. And Bush randomly raised that terror alert thingy from time to time when his boy Dick got the urge.

I thought the Terror Alert thing happened whenever John Kerry's poll numbers ticked up, and then never again after the 2004 election.

Well yeah, bin Laden knew it would be his death if the Republicans were kicked out of office and replaced with someone who actually wanted to kill him.

Bush on bin Laden: 'I Really Just Don't Spend That Much Time On Him'

Romney on bin Laden: "It's not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person."

You can tell if somebody took the short bus because they think Bin Laden was alive last year or that the military got him. Neither is true. The most likely story is that Bin Laden died in late 2001.

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe bin Laden was a patsy for a government within a government within a government all along. You'll never know.

Of course, there are those who think the federal Gubbmint is really just those friendly folks on TV with parted hair and power suits with IQs of 80 called politicians -- and nothing else.

I hate it when Obama plays politics with national security. Like when he uses a childish color-coded terror warning chart to tell us how threatened we should feel on a given day. Or that time his homeland security chief suggested we seal ourselves inside our homes with duct tape to avoid an imminent nonspecific chemical attack. It seems like not a day goes by without the White House saying something stupid, or needlessly inflammatory, or both.

Remember that time Obama's aides suggested that America's enemies would prefer Mitt Romney to win the 2012 election? And that Congressional Republicans opposing his intervention in Libya were 'supporting terror' and 'approaching Treason'?

Me neither. Unlike the Bush years all of the crazy nonsense and blatant political gaming seems to be coming from outside the White House.

Incense Burner

A woman of Nagasaki named Kame was one of the few makers of incense burners in Japan. Such a burner is a work of art to be used only in a tearoom or before a family shrine.

Kame, whose father before her had been such an artist, was fond of drinking. She also smoked and associated with men most of the time. Whenever she made a little money she gave a feast inviting artists, poets, carpenters, workers, men of many vocations and avocations. In their association she evolved her designs.

Kame was exceedingly slow in creating, but when her work was finished it was always a masterpiece. Her burners were treasured in homes whose womenfolk never drank, smoked, or associated freely with men.

The mayor of Nagasaki once requested Kame to design an incense burner for him. She delayed doing so until almost half a year had passed. At that time the mayor, who had been promoted to office in a distant city, visited her. He urged Kame to begin work on his burner.

At last receiving the inspiration, Kame made the incense burner. After it was completed she placed it upon a table. She looked at it long and carefully. She smoked and drank before it as if it were her own company. All day she observed it.

At last, picking up a hammer, Kame smashed it to bits. She saw it was not the perfect creation her mind demanded.

How about Fox News?

How about CNN (Sergeant Major Eric Haney)?

How about Steve Pieczenik, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under three different administrations, (Nixon, Ford and Carter) and current adviser to the Pentagon?

I bet you that at least one stupid Republican is going to fall for this trap.

D: Al-Qaida may be looking to avenge bin Laden's death
R: We cannot believe that President Fartbongo would politicize terrorism and the killing of Osama
D: Yes, thank you for reminding all of us that Obama got Osama killed not a Republican president
R. But, but, 9/11

Meh. I was watching a lot of cable news back then and for a while there was lots of talk of him already being dead, mostly speculation about missile strikes on Tora Bora. And now all I can find are links to conspiracy sites. Oh well.

No... he launched missiles when they found intel about Osama's where-abouts. Because everyone with a pulse knew going into Afghanistan to try and find him would be futile. But it's so convenient that the right wing refuses to admit Clinton and then Obama fought the war on terror better than Bush.
