I feel slightly bad for Cesc. Slightly. |

Whomever convinces him to be their next manager will be getting a solid coach. However that will be his hardest challenge since he won't have the loaded team that he had at Barca. |

Good for him, he had an amazing run, he'll be a legend at the Camp Nou. Now if only other managers *cough* Mike Scioscia of the Angels *cough* would take the hint and resign, stat. |

| Langston Homer Nixon: I feel slightly bad for Cesc. Slightly. Me too. But I would get a little tingle in my loins if the two players who left Arsenal last summer to win trophies both ended up without trophies. It's hard to fault Cesc, Barca was his boyhood club, but I'm hoping against hope that City trips at the finish line and fail to lift the League Cup. /NIAC |

Copa del Rey still to play. One could argue that's a major tournament. |

It was one of sports more stressful jobs. both Mourinho & Pep have *aged* since they took over their respective clubs. Guardiola's hair fell out ffs. He is a young man; he will be back once refreshed (or next week if he signs for Chelsea). |

I think it was a case of Dick Vermeil-level burnout that did him in. According to the presser in Barcelona this AM Pep actually made his decision back in December. /can't fault the guy for leaving after the run Barca's had the last couple of years //figures he'll end up in EPL within the year ///wonders about Messi sticking around Camp Nou, though ////blaugrana slashies! |

Stay away, Roman. Just sign RDM and be done with it. Although if he does come to Chelsea, hopefully I'm as wrong as this guy. Spanish football expert Graham Hunter told BBC Radio 5 Live: "The decision to sack Rijkaard has been building for the majority for the season. "The directors had been losing faith in him, and rightly so, for several months. In my view, the time was right to remove him in January - trophies could have been won if that action was taken. "A large majority of the board wanted Mourinho to replace him but Laporta is the president and said he wanted his own man, who is Guardiola. "I think they have made a bad decision and they will regret it. "What you need in that dressing room is experience at man management. Rijkaard has failed in the last few months because of poor individual man-management and Guardiola cannot have the skills yet with his limited experience." |

That hack Guardiola... what did he do, win what, 13 of the 17 competitions he entered? Pffffft. /what if they get Bielsa //w00t! |

Yeah, Bielsa would be the logical chioce. He doesn't do defense either. Anyway, unless Pepz can get back in within 2 years, this is definately an end of an era. Barca will still snag titles here and there but you know.... Really begining to regret not watching more Barca games these last few years. |

Tito Vilanova is already going to replace him, so no Bielsa for Cules. It's a logical choice, because Vilanova understands La Masia and worked with Pep for so long. My guess is Pep will take a year or two off. There have been rumors that he will go to Mexico and coach there considering how many connections he has there. Plus Johann Cryuff is working closely with Chivas Guadalajara. I admit, I wish Bielsa was coming. Imagine the mind games between him and Mourino. Both are great managers, but nuttier than squirrel poo. Gracias Pep! Mes que un manager! |

Also heard that his priority is to re-sign with Bilbao. And Bielsa is not a guy you sway with money. A very special guy, that one. I admit, I wish Bielsa was coming. Imagine the mind games between him and Mourino. Both are great managers, but nuttier than squirrel poo. Bielsa doesn't do mind games. Bielsa does football, football, and only football. That said, I think Mourinho's Real would do ok against Bielsa's Barcelona. Parking the bus and deadly counter-attack is a good way to beat Bielsa, since he does even less defense than Guardiola, and won't modify that approach, ever, against any opponent. |

Barca already announced Tito Vilanova as Pep's successor. |

TonnageVT Smartest Funniest 2012-04-27 11:39:39 AM Rumours already floating that Dani Alves is looking to leave Barca in the summer. /Then again, there are still rumours linking Sneijder to United. Why would Sneijder want to play for DC United?????? j/k Come on Subby, cut the guy some slack, he has lived under quite a pressure cooker for the last four years, let the dude catch his breath... The good news (hopefully) is with a new coach, maybe Barca will leave Arsenal's roster alone this offseason. |
