| Snarcoleptic_Hoosier Well you know what, if I owned an NFL franchise, I'd have drafted him first too. /The Suck for Luck campaign paid off |
||
| IAmRight Not sure what's crazy about that. It's the Redskins. I guess it might be crazy to believe them. |
||

Has the smell of selfishness. If he's any good a nickel says he holds out one day. But it'll be about respect, not the money. |
||
| you are a puppet
They said they would have drafted him first, unless Heath Shuler was available. |

It costs the Redskins nothing to blow that smoke and could gain them some good will toward getting a deal done. Of course, now RG3 can hold out and ask to be paid like the #1 Washington allegedly told him they considered him. |

Luck is going to be very disappointing. |

I was watching some of the draft coverage on the news. I saw that there were fans at FedEx field watching the draft on the jumbotron. I wonder how much Snyder was charging them for that. |

| SlothB77 Trust me, as a listener to the Wash DC local sports media, the 'who would you rather have - Luck or Griffin' scenario was played out over and over and it was about 60/40 Griffin. It is the Redskins personnel department we are talking about. daniel snyder. they would do it. |

I was not surprised about this, but not even 20 minutes after RGIII was actually drafted, I got an email from the Redskins Team Store trying to huck merchandise. I love you Dan. |

RG3 is a better fit for the Redskins playing in the NFC East. QB;s are getting more mobile in it. Philly pass rush is going to be scary this year, and would kill Luck. |
||
| Killer Cars
Considering it's the Redskins we're talking about, all the Colts or Rams had to do was float one "gee, this Tannehill kid looks really good..." nugget to the media, and he probably ends up in DC...after trading the house for the second or even 1st pick. |

Yeah, Luck is just slow. Cam Newton could get away with it, though. Because Cam Newton's fast. /wait, they ran the same 40 times? Whoops. |

| SlothB77 Redskins have to be careful with Griffin now. They cannot afford for him to get hurt. They have to assume he will meet or exceed his potential, and protect him as much as they can so that he is still upright and on the field later on down the road when they will need him. |

muck4doo: RG3 is a better fit for the Redskins playing in the NFC East. QB;s are getting more mobile in it. Philly pass rush is going to be scary this year, and would kill Luck. Luck runs a 4.6 40, he's not exactly a statue out there. RGIII is farked because the Redskins aren't going to be able to put anything around him and don't have any more 1st round picks for a dog's age. I want to see him do well but I don't think it's going to happen in DC. |

| IAmRight muck4doo: Cam isn't RG3, and doesn't play in the NFC East either. Link I know he's not. I'm saying it doesn't require 4.4 speed to get by in the NFC East - Griffin is now the only one of 'em that is fast (since Vick will continue to miss more than half the season with injuries, as he does every year). |

I believe they will put clauses in his contract where he gets a yearly "props" roster bonus as well as quarterly installments of "love" and weekly "daps" from each of his coaches. |

netweavr: I absolutely believe they told him that. Hell, I would have told him that too. Why not, employers lie to employees all the time. Who is the last big 12 QB to really stick though? Colt mccoy? I fail to see how Griffith is any different, he seems like a great college QB but bust in the nfl. |

They have to assume he will meet or exceed his potential, and protect him as much as they can so that he is still upright and on the field later on down the road when they will need him. This guy is doomed. He is owner Dan Snyder's next big thing. Has a single one of Dan Snyder's "next big things" as a football owner ever worked out? Of course they didn't, because so far as football is concerned, Snyder has the septic touch----everything he touches turns into sh*t. This will be no different. Griffin is now on the fast track to oblivion, and the only question remains is what will be the method of his destruction. Will he turn out to be mediocre at best? Will he suffer a career ending injury? Will he get thrown in jail? Will a meteorite fall on his head? Regardless of what it is, the man is already condemned to failure, due to his association with septic touch Snyder. |

No Day 2 draft thread? A few months ago, I listed how I thought the QBs in the draft were ranked by the scouts. I put Tannehill third and some jackhole responded "you know how I know you don't know what you're talking about?" because I had the audacity to say Tannehill was ranked higher than Nick Foles. I wish I remembered who it was. If you're reading this, out yourself and I'll taunt you with a Nelson "ha-ha" pic. |
