What is wrong with people? What a horrible thing to do. |

He probably should have deduced that General Manager I.P. Freely and Team Spokesperson Amanda Huggenkiss weren't actual personnel. |

| SpikeStrip hi, this is gene masseth of the cincinnati bengals |

| Harv72b Quasar: On the plus side, he's not stuck on the Bengals. Don't they have a two-conviction minimum anyway? |
||
| The_Sponge Quasar: On the plus side, he's not stuck on the Bengals. Getting drafted by the Bengals is basically saying "Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200." |
||
| The_Sponge Klippoklondike: That's not amusing, that's horrible Exception: If the person being pranked has the same kind of personality as Ryan Leaf. /Which I suspect is not the case in this matter. |

Grables'Daughter: What is wrong with people? What a horrible thing to do. Agreed. You should never tell someone the Bengals are going to draft them. That's just farked up. /Yes, I know it's been covered already |
||
| IAmRight a) that's f*cked up b) I think it would be really hilarious if now they actually DO call him tomorrow and he hangs up on 'em. c) I think it goes from f*cked up to so-f*cked-up-I-can't-deny-its-awesomen ess if it's a prank again and he believes 'em again |

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? |

Not funny. But it would be funny if the Bengals draft him today and he hangs up on them. |

meh, doesn't seem that farked up to me. he's going to get drafted. it's not like they killed (or even kicked) his dog. all and all not that bad. not that funny, but not that farked up either. sort of meh... |

from a recent Chris Collinsworth piece What do you think?" I said, "well, I'm excited to get drafted, but I don't think the fans are going to like it much." So after another five minutes of chit-chat the guy on the phone said, "Cris, this is Alex Hewko.....Gotcha!!!!!!" Alex was a teammate of mine at Florida and former friend. I tried to laugh it off, but I was ready to explode. Back to watching my name not being called on television. |

I find it very uncomfortable when other people are embarrassed. So this kind of joke is not up my alley. Shame on the prankster. But if you get your kicks trying to ruin someone else's big day go for it I guess. Not unlike trying to ruin someone's wedding or graduation if you ask me. /funeral pranks are fine |

| Jim from Saint Paul
There is this guy, Paul Allen, who does play-by-play for the Vikings and has a 3 hour talk radio show each morning from 9 to 12. He's a doof, but not a jerk. He's a homer in every sense of the word. Yet no one would consider him a big prankster or jerk in the way you'd associate most morning show DJ/Radio-Hosts. So this last year he played a prank on Erin Henderson and Visanthe Shiancoe, where right as free agency started he called their voicemails, disguised his voice a little and pretened he was from the New England Patriots and that they were interested in talking to them about joining the team. Both guys knew it was him. Erin Henderson didn't even come on his show till after he was signed and that was the FIRST thing he talked about with PA. Gave him all sorts of guff live on the air. Vsanthe refuses to take his call or speak to him anymore. /csb |

| IAmRight JohnBigBootay: I find it very uncomfortable when other people are embarrassed. So this kind of joke is not up my alley. Shame on the prankster. You gotta admit you'd kinda laugh if he had the balls to do it again, setting everything up, even more elaborately, tonight, though. It's kinda like offensive humor - if you say it once and just kinda go for it, then it's f*cked up...but if you commit to that sh*t and ram it home, it's awesome. |

I would definitely file this prank under the "not cool" folder. Since this guy was potentially a first round pick, he spent all of last night glued to the TV hoping to hear his name called. If you find it funny to mess with someone in this situation, I suggest you play a game called "Hide and go fark yourself." Now, if it were a dude expected to go in the 7th round, then it might be funnier. |

Oh I could see the humor if he was my good buddy and it would be fun but no way I'd let it go on long enough for him to tell everyone and embarrass himself. I'm kind of a pussy that way - not ruthless enough. I won't last long when the end times come. |

JohnBigBootay: I find it very uncomfortable when other people are embarrassed. So this kind of joke is not up my alley. Shame on the prankster. Yep. That's exactly how I feel on those wacky video shows when some poor bastard scratches off a phony $10,000 winning lottery ticket and his "friends" videotape him jumping up and down for a few minutes before telling him he's been had. I've got a good sense of humor, but that's just flat out mean. |

I find it amusing. As if athletes are above the fray when it comes to pranks? Please, people don't cry foul when foreign dignitaries get pranked on radio shows....but heaven forbid someone pranks a kid who can catch a football. |

I laughed like hell. /The average first-year salary of an NFL draft pick is $750,000. Self-important prigs. Gimme a break. Except if you knew anything about the kid, you probably wouldn't be saying that. He was unable to play football his senior year in high school (due to being 19) but remained on his team as a scout team player, was the first kid on the field every day even though he was never going to play a down in a real game, and is all-around just a good and humble human being. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012 -04-22/news/31383935_1_sierra-le on e-nfl-draft-work-ethic I'm peeved the Gints didn't take him over Reuben Randle...he's the perfect #3 WR, doesn't shy away from going over the middle/contact, is a hell of a blocker. Some of his catches this past year reminded me of the circus catches Hakeem Nicks made while he was at UNC. Slow 40 at the combine but apparently was ill, made up for it at his pro day. Not a burner but a solid 4.5 runner. I think the Bengals got a steal. |
