girl6: Everyone rags on Creation cons being over-priced, to restrictive in access to the talent and many other measurements as well. I like them b/c you don't have to put up with crap like this. I buy my ticket, I keep my same seat all weekend and I don't have to wait in a line for photo ops or autos for hours and hours. Yeah, I paid $150 for a pic with Original Cool Spock and Quinto but guess what? Nimoy won't be going to cons anymore and Quinto says it will be years if he does it again but I have a photo of Spock and Spock with me cheesing hard in the middle.

TOS cast members are getting up there in age. Those two seconds during the photo op is priceless to me. Plus, Leonard Nimoy and Jonathan Frakes said I was gorgeous. Can't put a price tag on that memory. I regret not going while De Kelley was still alive.

I confess I love going to the cons but I'm scared of meeting the celebs, I don't want want to do the whole stupid fan girl thing.

However, I did accidentally run into Ed greenwood last year at fan expo! Apparently he stared at my boobs, made my fiancee's day!

I'm not terribly surprised, given that this convention was advertised on BBC America, even.

Sultan Of Herf: rbaron71: The $495 was indeed for the full cast, I think there were nine of them here - not sure if it also included the guy who played Q, as he was a surprise addition to the show.

Im all about TNG, and I realize they gotta pay their bills, but $495...how about "holy motherfarking NO".

Was SO hot for Sirtis back in the day...

I'm guessing that most of the $495 is siphoned off by PR/convention sponge bosses (do nothing, soak up money anyhow), rather than going directly to the actors.

Ronin_S: Sounds a lot like what happens at Toronto, it gets worse every year. Why can't they just book the entire convention center?

/will be dressed as a Bleach character
//don't look at me like that, it's not like I can make a new costume every year, besides I'm going back to school
///I think I'll leave my sword at home though

At least last year the had the bigger building. The smaller building was insane. The fiancée and I got the super premium passes this year just so we can take a break in the "quiet room".

I really want my mom to come with and cosplay as Catelyn and Sansa Stark.

/fan expo fark meetup?

$495/ 9 actors = $55 per actor. Actually sounds like a deal compared to what I've heard the going rate is for actor/fan pictures.

/never gone to one of these things...
//would like to someday.

spiral_fishcake: As for the BO problems, if anyone has some ideas on how to get rid of it, I'd like to know. My teenage daughter has some friends over and they reek (I suggested spraying them all with Febreeze, but my Fiance said no).

You can't do much to get rid of someone else's reek aside from friendly pointers after gently taking them aside, but a scented candle is a great way to temporarily mask it for a while. The flame has the added benefit of breaking down the odor molecules as well.

You can always suggest they start adding a cup of white vinegar to wash clothes (kills bacteria in things you can't wash on hot hot, which otherwise linger and create perma-stink clothes) and wiping rubbing alcohol on their pits, which works for a day or two. The best solution of all is to cut down on sugary, acidic, and spicy food (curry and soda pop are big BO generators). But it's such an incredibly sensitive topic that it would be the better part of valor to just light a candle.
