Serious question. Why does Carl's wear a Blackwater shirt?

It's $25 for the entire series. It's an episodic game. Only one episode has been released so far, but the others will be released in the following months.

One of my friends pre-ordered this and played through the first episode the moment she could.
Said it was pretty good for what it is. Going to pick it up myself when I can.

Release the game when it's finished or not farking at all. Don't release part of a complete game in monthly installments.

He's not dead in the comic book series yet, but they do dump a mountain of hurt on top of him.

The difference between Carl in the Comic and Carl on the show is that the comic creates a much more sympathetic character -- who is also a stone cold murderin' badass. On the show, he's just in the way and annoying as hell.

I actually really liked this game. I am however really pissed that they're 2 hour episodes and they're only releasing one a month. I'll continue to buy them, but I'll probably end up waiting until the rest come out.

Played the demo this morning. It was alright, very standard point-and-click fare. I'll buy it once they all come out and they release a discounted bundle.

Watched most of a play through online and was fairly impressed. Fairly decent characters and story. And its nice to see a zombie game that's not the typical shoot'em up.

Seems to be mostly a different group than the comic too. Will probably pick it up next payday.

I downloaded the demo, but haven't played through it yet. Are the graphics any better than the BTTF game? The models and textures on that game were awful, even for something that was trying to be cartoony. It honestly looked like a Playstation 2 game.

I read the comic and refuse to watch the show on principle. That principle being that, from what I've heard, they've changed major parts of the story.

I don't have a problem if you want to turn a comic book into a show or movie. But you don't really have to do much writing. It's already written for you. Just follow the existing story and dialog. Is that really so hard?

And before you Walking Dead show people jump on my case, be warned. I could dump a mountain of spoilers on you.

Well, TV shows have a thing called a "budget", and sadly it's supposed to be pretty low on TWD from what I've read, so they can't do everything in the show that they do in the comic. Plus, comic book dialog, even in a non-superhero comic, often doesn't sound good when coming out of real peoples' mouths.

/That doesn't excuse the crappy writing on the show.
//But it does explain why they had an entire season at the farm.
///Don't care about spoilers, I've read the comics myself.
////Zombie slash!

A full set of the comics is a lot cheaper than a writing staff...

What's the difference between blinking and winking? Ask Carl.

His mom does have a really odd pro-choice/pro-life argument with some other survivors later on.

I like both and recognize each has strengths and flaws so I feel I'm pretty neutral here. But I have to ask: Do you honestly think you 'don't really have to do much writing' to convert a book or even comic series into a TV show or movie? No accounting whatsoever for budgets, casting, written versus spoken word, story arcs that need to fit into a single season or part of one? Contracts with actors? Is TWD source material so excellent there's no way it can be improved upon either by the addition or omission of material? Adjusted to fit a wider audience than that of the comic?

The ultimate irony is that the creator of the comic is also the lead writer. He can do whatever the fark he wants with the universe.

It's a decent point-and-click adventure with action elements added. It's also pretty gruesome. And the $25 gets you all 5 episodes as they are released, not just the first one.

After playing it today on a friend's PS3, I'm definitely getting it on Steam.

Doesn't look like the game is really optimized for the PC. Seems to run better on the PS3 or 360, also costs more on the PC, but you do get more graphical options. Not sure if that matters much, considering this is a cel shaded game with a nice looking but inexpensive art style.

Played the demo, watched a few videos and reviews, and am definitely getting the series. TellTale does better with IPs that don't take themselves too seriously, and while TWD is gruesome, it's not teaching you anything other than 'this would really suck' and 'people are stupid'.

I still think they need to grab the Farscape IP next and make an episodic game out of it. Would be just like this with a different setting, and a little more shooting.

In this case the episodes are done, you could wait till late summer and then just pick them all up together.
