I can't think of any movie that I've watched each and every trailer for. This better not suck.

The more I see, the more I think this is going to end up like the Texas Chainsaw prequel thing from a few years ago.

I hope I'm wrong, but I've been less and less excited with every trailer that's come out.

Eh... overproduced nonsense. Too many different aliens, cheap celebrity stunt casting and way too much CGI. The "Avatar" of the Aliens franchise. It'll suck.

Well, I'm going to be the odd one out here. That trailer hardly had any monsters, and the ones it did have got lost in all the "blink or you'll miss it" crap that these ADD-inspired previews are full of. To me it was just a bunch of quick cut action shots with overly-dramatic titles sprinkled in ("THEY WENT SEARCHING...FOR OUR BEGINNING"). For all I know, the movie could be great, but that trailer does nothing to impress me.

There's been a lot of new additions to the Weyland Industries website as well. Mostly background info on the tech that we'll be seeing in the movie. It'll burn a half-hour of your time at least.

That's actually why I like these trailers. They pique the interest, and don't show every damn thing that's going to happen in the movie.

My view is, either show the aliens or don't. Don't try to half-ass it with this ADD quick-cutting bullshiat. You can intrigue audiences by not showing them at all in the previews.

Initially i was expecting your typical high budget 'reboot' or 'prologue' full of special effects, with not much in the way of a compelling plot. But I learned something about it which i won't give away, that has me thinking the plot could be very relevant to my interests.

1. explore planet cause the pictographs told you to do it

2. Find aliens

3. Aliens find Earth. Attempt to take off towards Earth.

4. Are somehow thwarted by Ripley-esque person.

5. Alien ship crashes back onto planet.

Yeah, the trailer didn't give too much away. nope. not at all.

I was already sold on seeing it, plus over 90% of the that was in other trailers. Also, I don't want to know if it has the "Alien" alien or not, I'd much rather have the experience of going "Yay" when/if I see it at the theater.

my problem with this trailer and nearly all the trailers that are out, is that they show too much info. I'm not just referring to the trailers for this movie, but for all movies. I remember when trailers showed enough of a movie to spark an interest, but no more. These days they all show way too much of the movie that there doesn't seem to be any scenes that we haven't seen a little bit of

Yeah, but why...? Makes no sense from them to invade/wipe out a planet they already visited when it was less advanced and easier to kill. Unless the pictograms were meant as a warning by some OTHER aliens NOT to go to that planet. They should have been more clear.

Is anyone hoping for SIgourney Weaver to make a cameo? She still looks great and I'd love to see her on the Nostromo years later as they slowly glide to the planet.

My problem with this line of reasoning is that whenever someone comes along and whines that the trailer is showing too much, theyre assuming that theyve seen all there is to see and can fill in the blanks themselves. I can show you one interesting sentence from every chapter of a good book, doesnt mean youve gained anything out of it. Context is important. Thats why its called a teaser they show you a snippet of the heroine jumping in a hatch and running around with an axe. Most people go "Oh shiat I want to see how she got to that point." You go. "PSSSH IVE SEEN FIVE SECONDS OF THE MOVIE I DONT NEED TO SEE THE REST BECAUSE IM SO SMART I KNOW WHATS COMING." You see what I mean?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmkVW uP_sO0 Think youve seen the whole trailer and can make a subjective decision based on the 1% of the movie youve seen? editing matters.

I never understand people who complain about trailers giving away the plot. If you know of a movie's existence then you know at least the major points of the plot, otherwise how the hell do you know you want to see it? Are there people who go to theaters and just pick movies they haven't heard of? If a movie is good it will be good regardless of whether or not you know the plot, that's why you can watch some movies again and again and again and not get tired of them.

Hell, I know the plot of the Avengers; Nick fury know's some trouble's a brewing > he goes about assembling the Avengers, No one believes the seriousness of the threat > The Avengers refuse to assemble, Loki pulls some cosmic cube related shenanigans > Earth is in danger, the Avengers assemble > Awesome battle, Loki rallies > The Avengers pull off some last minute team work and save the day, Roll credits > Easter Egg.

I still want like hell to see the flick because I'll enjoy seeing it unfold, only an idiot sits in their overpriced seat wondering if earth is going to be exploded or taken over by skrulls or whatever.

They're not trying to invade, they're trying to escape. It seems likely they're suffering from a xenomorph infestation and are probably the last survivors rather than an advance party.

A Sentinel? Once a race is advanced enough to find its way to the planet using the clues... they're a potential threat. As opposed to a bunch of tuber-eating baboons who aren't really worth wiping out. But I don't think that's the plot here.

I'm somewhat amused by how Fassbender and Rapace are known for "high-brow-ish" roles, while they also have the dude from the schlock-fest that is the Walking Dead and the dude from the history-slaying abomination that is the Borgias in it as well.

/watch both shows
