Fark. I cannot imagine what they are going through. |

Did she get to meet one of the Kardashian sisters? Because that's certainly on my bucket list. |

| The Shatner Incident
Damn. My heart aches for those people. That is just goddamned sad. Looking at this story, I feel even more fortunate to have a normal, albeit rambunctious child. |

Atomic Spunk: Did she get to meet one of the Kardashian sisters? Because that's certainly on my bucket list. Yeah, but you get Khloe. |

May light eternal shine upon her; may rest eternal be granted unto her; may peace be upon all those who loved, and continue to love, her. |

I really wish that godawful Bucket List movie never existed so I don't have to hear people saying "bucket list." |

Strength and honor, young one. The fates saw fit to deal you a cruel hand, but you fought as long as you could. That is the death worthy of respect. |

Okay, I had to stop reading that once they got into quoting entries from the blog. I can not imagine the pain that one goes through in losing a child, particularly one so young. As a father of a little girl (almost 2) I had to stop and think "what if I would never get to see my little girl grown up?" I'm going to give my daughter the biggest hug as soon as I get home. |

look at the comments below the story... sure are a lot of people with brain atrophies out there. |

RIP. Sadly SMA babies are born every day. Many of us do live normal lives with normal lifespans. |
||
| ourbigdumbmouth Bucketlist for a baby? Let's reverse that term for old people. Kids and babies should have wishlists. All others should have hopes and dreams that evolve in buckets and lists. This story made me cry. |

I really did tear up when I read this...I was hoping that the girl would have been one of those few who beat the odds. |

Very sad, but I am a little confused that the baby has a drivers license and has gone hunting. |

Dammit. Only worse because the first article was just yesterday. / blessed/ fortunate/ lucky to have a 2.5 year old daughter who fought her way out of the NICU after an emergency c-section.2 months early. // Going to spend some bonus time with her this afternoon. |

The Shatner Incident: Damn. My heart aches for those people. That is just goddamned sad. Looking at this story, I feel even more fortunate to have a normal, albeit rambunctious child. I'm going to go home tonight and hug my 3 yo and 4 mo extra tight. We had a scare with the little one, and after three surgeries and two really hard months, she's doing great. My wife and I caught a glimpse of what these parents are going through..... and I have no words to explain what they are experiencing. /Farking allergies are kicking up early this year |

My heart aches for their baby's death, but I'm glad these patents took a shiatty hand dealt to them and used it to raises awareness about SMA. |

Ok, this thread is filled with the sentimental sort thus far, so I guess I'll be the first to don my flame-suit and say I laughed when I read the headline. After all the publicity they got for their tragic story, the baby dies like two days later and makes the whole thing kinda anti-climactic (or pre-climactic, at any rate). Yes, on a personal level, this must be very sad for them; but, from a purely objective viewpoint, I find this really funny. I picture it like those scenes where the dramatic music is swelling as the hero leaps off a cliff to save the day, and then the record scratch soundclip plays as he falls to his death on the jagged rocks below. Granted, I didn't actually read the original articles or this one, just got the jist of the story from the Fark headline and blurb in Google News. Also, I'm dealing with a tremendous heartbreak of my own, so I'm feeling exceptionally cynical and negative. |
||
| que.guero You know, I can't wait for the religious folks to come out en masse and talk about how this is God, testing people's faith. I'd like to know how a 5 month old needs to have her faith tested... |

Also, I'm dealing with a tremendous heartbreak of my own, so I'm feeling exceptionally cynical and negative. I was already laughing because who makes a bucket list for a baby? They can't do anything, so the bucket list would literally be 1) Take shiat in diaper 2) Suck on mommies boobs 3) Nap 4) Take shiat in diaper while napping 5) Wake up and cry end list. Yeah it's a sad story and all, and my heart goes out to the family. But the parents should be ashamed of themselves for the obvious publicity grab. Stop being attention whores, you're not the only family who suffered a tragedy like this. Just the only ones I can think of who made national headlines for their babies "bucket list." |

So do people age in Heaven? How is little baby Avery going to develop to the point where she could reasonably take care of other dead people? Does Papa George have to stay an old man for eternity or does he get to go back to being a young man? Would his relatives even recognize him? What if his idea of Heaven doesn't involve hanging out with his relatives? |
