Liar subby. No way FIFA games would ever allow a goal like that to happen.

/unless it's against me.

Cissé, we obey the laws of physics on the pitch. No more of that, do you understand?

I'm not sure I would rate that goal above Crouch's, but the amount of bend on that ball was ridiculous when you look at how his body was lined up. Cech never had a chance.

That ball should not have gone in, no wonder Cech didn't have a chance to make the save. Part of me is wondering if that was an attempt at a cross, but if it was, I have no idea who he was kicking to.

The spin on that ball was unbelievable and yet perfect... one of those "try and do that again, I'll be back in two weeks" shots. However, when a match is decided 2-1 every (non-own) goal can be considered a deliberate masterwork.

Of course, the tykes on my soccer team scored about five, completely deliberate own-goals last weekend, so there goes that theory.

This.

While Crouch's strike is impressive, that type of goal has been done before.

Cisse's curl is just.....wrong.

There was a sign outside of the stadium that read:

"We apologize, but our laws of physics are temporarily out of order. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Yep, that was my reaction, as well. Cisse's goal is just too damn perfect.

To me, part of the measure of a great goal is being able to say to the player, "you will never do that again, not if you try it twice a game for the rest of your career." This is one of those goals. Holy fark.

Cisse's Goal > Crouch's Goal and probably deserves goal of the year. The best goals of the season so far IMO are:

1. Cisse
2. Crouch
3. Suarez's half-field goal against Norwich last weekend
4. Coates' goal (I think it was against QPR)

Best Premier League Goal ever? As much as I hate Rooney, his bicycle kick against City last year still has all of the goals above beat.

Yeah, dude. Agreed. Not to take anything away from Crouch, it was an awesome strike, but Cisse's was in the Friday-esque DAAAAMMMMNNNN territory.

/What would make Cisse's goal even better is if he's a natural lefty.
//Is he?
\\\I have no idea.

I disagree. Back to goal, caught in a bear hug, no problem.

I always like when someone has a goal like that and the goalie has the "Wha, wha, what just happened?" look on their face. Where it can be one of the best in the world and he has no prayer of stopping it.

Yeah, and you can sort of tell when he realizes that it is actually headed for goal and he starts scrambling.

And sometimes they don't even do that much. They just start to shift their weight and it's already too late.

Cisse's is tops simply because, as it was said yesterday and again in this thread; it just defied the laws of physics. No one will be able to pull that shot off intentionally ever.

Was watching it live. You could honestly tell it was going in right after he struck it. I was sitting there going oh my god, oh my god OH MY GOD! Only goal I've ever seen live that was better was Tiote's against Arsenal but that was more a matter of the circumstances.

That's just it, I'm not sure how intentional that was. If he was really going for it, you can count it as a lucky shot from a striker on HUGE form. Kinda just swung at it and the ball did the rest.

Might sound like I'm ragging on him...but I still think (lucky or not) that is one of, if not the best goal in the the Prem this year.

I think he tried to score, but 'knew' it wasn't going to happen. It was the only option available to him since none of his other team was in a position to take the ball. You can see him start to run back down field thinking the goalie would have an easy save.

As a Geordie, I may be a bit prejudiced, but 13 goals in 12 matches makes me think less luck and more "HUGE form". If he did start to run back, it was more likely because he felt that Czech, being among the best keepers in the world*, was going to gather in his effort.

* Krul is better

Watching it the first time, I didn't really catch what the big deal was. Took a closer look after reading some comments and saw it wasn't even going towards the goal! How does that even happen!?! And It seemed like it was accelerating all the way to the goal! I'm no big soccer fan, so it takes something pretty crazy to get me excited about it.

Cant tell if your being uber sarcastic, or if your just terrible at fifa. I never shoot from inside the penalty box. Much more fun from 25 yards out.
