Considering that most primate lab work is done jointly by DVMs, MDs, or DVM/MDs, I'm not sure why a Zoo Director would be surprised at an MD doing an echo on a chimp. It's almost a joke in primate work that a DVM who does primate work and an MD are functionally interchangeable in any given specialty.

Is the drape over the chimp's face like the pixels used on TLC shows? To blur his identity because the photographer doesn't have a signed release?
