Saw this on the local DC news last night. She's better than me, I'll say that much.

I love it when animals kick out the jams.

I don't know about melody, but she definitely has a sense of rhythm.

I doubt an elephant could make it's "lips" buzz like you need to to play a horn like a tuba, trumpet, trombone, etc etc.

I doubt the elephant would ever develop the ability to blow or draw single notes... at most maybe she'd learn to single out half of the notes on one side or the other. Seems like she's stuck either blowing or drawing the whole thing. It would be really interesting to see a full scale of harmonicas presented to the animal. That way, she could play the whole harmonica (as she does in the video) but would be able to play the different tunings/chords as notes on a piano. Most people (and I doubt the trainer) don't know harmonicas come in lots of different tunings, everything from major diatonic scales to really weird eastern tunings. Heck, I'd donate some old harps to see what the elephant would to when presented with more than one.

big deal, i just got back from Thailand and saw elephants paint pictures better than most people could.

I hope he's gotten better since 2010 so he can have more lines in "=3 The Musical, Part II"
