| Blood tests aren't always 100% accurate - but when the crazy looking guy with the blood-filled syringe says it's tainted with AIDS, just take his word for it (w/ mugshot) |

Can't he just leave it in an open Coke can like we used to do back in the 80s? |

threatened a woman with a blood-filled syringe he said was tainted with AIDS. Fifty-two-year-old Benjamin Blessing of Columbia was arrested in the April 18 robbery of the CVS Pharmacy in Columbia. Police say Blessing walked into the pharmacy, produced the syringe and held it near the pharmacist's chest. He forced her to open a safe and fled with $27,000 worth of prescription medications. So yes, getting stabbed with AIDS is bad and whatnot. But there are drugs that if you take them right away after exposure, can significantly reduce your chance of being infected with HIV. If you get stabbed with an AIDS filled syringe (technically it is filled with HIV which causes AIDS but whatevs) call 911 right away. They'll give you some anti-retroviral drugs that might prevent it from ever infecting you. People like nurses and doctors who get exposed get these things. Also, AIDS is very treatable, you can live a long time with it. Cancer is today's boogeyman. Dude should have claimed the syringe was filled with cancer (HPV for instance!) |

I heard a new thing that gangs are doing. They will drive around at night with no lights on, and the first person to flash their brights at them, the new gang members have to chase them down and kill them. Tell all your friends. Stay safe! |

The Catholic Church makes their new priests do that - but it's only during Lent, so no worry... |

In Columbia? Goddamnit. This is why I can't sell my house there. |

Stupid robber. The pharmacist should have educated him that the syringe is full of HIV-tainted blood. AIDS is the disease, HIV is the etiologic agent. /Pharmacist so I'm really getting a kick . . . |

Well then...I was in a holding cell with that guy for like 15 hours.....He didn't seem too crazy, but I certainly didn't ask what he was in for. Clearly I picked a bad day to have a few beers in Howard County |
