The soundtrack is actually more entertaining than the movie itself. Lots of catchy music.

They may want to consider splitting the property in several apartments or condos. It's doubtful they'll find a buyer that can take the whole thing.

I was 17 or 18 when that movie came out. A bunch of us crowded into a 1965 Pontiac Tempest and went to the New Moon Drive-in. We had never seen anything like that before. Speaking for myself, I went home and jacked off for the next month to those visions in my head. Sure, I was getting real pussy as well but nothing near as erotic as what we saw in that movie.
Tried to get my girlfriend to go see it but she wasn't having any part of that.

I just watched Boogie Nights on HBO after looking it up on Rot. Tom. That stupid movie got a 93 on tomato & I'm wondering how the hell that piece a crap movie could score that high with the supposed best movie critics across the land. It had awkward stretches so long I actually cringed.

Am I wrong? Did I miss some subtle incredible movie magic?

also, that was among the first porn flicks to go mainstream. prior to that guys had to go to really seedy neighborhoods to see low quality loops in old theaters. there were 2 brothers in CA who changed the world of porn in america. they became very wealthy before things got ugly for them, but thats another story for another day.

Not sure you missed anything. Maybe it just didn't click with you. I'm sure there's a movie or 2 (or more) that you like that I would find stupid and make me cringe with it's awkward stretches.

And that's ok, innit?

that's a great movie full of human emotion and the downward spiral possible after the pinnacle of fame.

also, i spend a lot of time around donut shops hoping that they'll get robbed.

Yes. That movie is a nearly picture-perfect snapshot of the good and the bad of the porn business in the late 70s and early 80s. If I had to take a few movies to a desert island, that would definitely be one of them. The natural interactions are wonderful. Nobody is a hero -- everyone is venal and shallow at times. The porn is neither depicted as liberating nor degrading in and of itself (though they do a good job of showing the turn towards coarseness that video began).

But that's just me. Different strokes, etc.

The dialogue was not only unimaginative it was pointless, sometimes unbelievable and although I mostly like all the actors in it, some of the lines were wooden. And did I really need to see 45 seconds of Marky Mark looking at himself in the mirror?

She did claim for a while that she was forced to do her trademark act. Not sure is she was forced to drink coke from her hooch though. She may have recanted later on when her book came out.

Wikipedia has a dark edge.
Pornography

While recovering at her parents' home, Boreman became involved with Chuck Traynor. According to Boreman, Traynor was violent and controlling. She said he forced her to move to New York, where he became her manager, pimp and husband.

Boreman was soon performing as Linda Lovelace in hardcore "loops", short 8mm silent films made for peep shows. She starred in a 1971 bestiality film titled Dog F***** or alternately Dogarama. She later denied appearing in the film, until several of the original loops proved otherwise.[3][5]

In 1972, Boreman starred in Deep Throat, which achieved surprising and unprecedented popularity among mainstream audiences, and even a review in The New York Times.[6] In Deep Throat she famously performed the film's eponymous act; additionally, all of her pubic hair was shaved off and she engaged in anal sex. None of these were common in pornographic films of the early 1970s.[citation needed]

Dogarama. Oh Professor Farnsworth, you old hound.

You sir have no taste in movies. Or perhaps you weren't in the right mood to view that movie, there are some great scenes in that movie, and great lines as well. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. And if that doesn't get it, I have two words: Roller Girl
