I agree with the parents. Nudity is not something to be condemned, on the other hand, I couldn't do it. Good for them. |
||
| spman If you wanna stop wearing clothes, that's your perogative, but don't drag your kids into it, that's just creepy and weird. |
||
| Gyrfalcon I doubt the entire state of Florida could cover this, subby. Maybe Alaska. |

purenudism.com has to get their material for masquerading nudism as a way to show off nudie kids to pedophiles from somewhere |

My great grandmother owned a nudist colony. I grew up around it and it really isn't a big deal. The sunburns sucked though. |

LeroyBourne: He hasn't received the gift of shame.....yet. Shame, repression, and social dissaproval are what makes nudity so much fun. Nudists are a threat to fun nudity -- the bastards. |

Rene Rivkin: Well, let's answer the question this way. I was a member of a nudist colony for quite a few years. My father took me there. I was 17. Andrew Denton: Was this before or after you fell out with him? Rene Rivkin: Well, you see, you don't listen to me. That's the trouble with you. I said I was...I was 17. Andrew Denton: 17. And you fell out when you were 20. Rene Rivkin: Well done. You were listening. Andrew Denton: Yes, yes. I was listening. I wasn't listening to you, actually, I was... Rene Rivkin: So at the age of 17, my father said to my late brother and my mother, "Let's go for a drive." It was a Sunday and we drove and drove and drove. We got to Liverpool and we kept driving. We hit a place called Bringelly. Andrew Denton: Mm-hm. Rene Rivkin: And there was a gate, a large gate with a large fence, and we drove in there and everyone was nude - probably 400 or 500 nude people. And my father said, "This is a nudist colony." He must've thought I was a moron. And so... Andrew Denton: Or you were amongst very poor people, one or the other. Rene Rivkin: And so we spent probably three to four years there virtually every weekend and I became the NSW nudist table tennis champion. ![]() // convicted white collar sleazebag // 17 seems a bit old to be making ur debut with mum and dad // he went completely batty before he died, got stuck into the prescription happy-pills //// said his dad was hung like a rogue elephant |

I love the feel of soft cotton fabrics. Clothing can feel very sensual, and warm. |
||
| freetomato While I respect their comfort with nudity, from my experience (three nude beaches in my lifetime) nudists are rarely people that you want to see naked. |

Nudity aside, what sort of parent allows their kid to be on ABC News? Somebody call CPS! |
||
| TheGreatGazoo Supposedly the studies of nudist kids claim that they have really good body images. It isn't the end of the world to run around nude unless you don't have sunscreen. |

There's a couple of terrible, terrible fanfic writers in the Harry Potter fandom (Neil, of the "Hogwarts Exposed" series, and Kieran Halcyon of the "Rose Potter" series) who include the most self-righteous and preachy characters extolling the virtues of nudism throughout their stories. Reading these fics (or at least, reading other people's hilarious mockeries of these fics) has completely ruined my image of nudists. It's honestly a shame, because I really do like to learn about why people do things I can't imagine doing, but I couldn't read the article without constantly expecting one of them to burst into a stilted lecture about how dreadful it is to get dressed. |

"The Reamers only agreed to speak with "20/20" if we agreed not to blur, uh, anything." The FCC cannot levy indecency fines against news shows but this will be a shiatstorm if they actually show anything. |

I was watching some voyeur video of a nude beach, and there was this one guy with a raging erection walking down the beach with his wife. He looked half mortified and half proud. |

Jim Jones somehow got a hold of a box of coffee cups from my vending machine company and actually served the Kool-Aid knock off in them. They were shown strewn about the ground on the cover of some major periodical (Time?), and my district manager tells me in '78 they immediately redesigned the coffee cups nationwide... |

I, for one, shall take a stand against this by not wearing pants the rest of the day! |

Every time I see a nudist thread, it reminds me of the time a friend told me his parents were nudists. His mom heard the conversation and called me later to ask that I don't tell anyone. I assured her there was no way I would tell anyone about their personal life. Mostly because it's never the people you want to see naked. |

Here are a couple of good resources for those whose first reaction is "oooh, yuckie, cooties, giggle." A good group of under 30 folks in Florida bringing a new generation into the lifestyle. NSFW Affiliated with the above group but with a countrywide and even worldwide reach. NSFW Also, on the topic of "dragging" children into it. Psychologically nudism has been shown to be extremely advantageous regarding body self perception and self esteem. Essentially, anorexia and other eating disorders are not found in nudist children/adolescents. Nor is body hate. |

The types of parents that might take their kids to a nudist whatever are markedly different from the types that wouldn't. Probably even more markedly different from typical parents of anorexic kids. |

Ya know if you want to hang out in the house naked, thats fine. but seriously who wants to let their kids run around naked in a place where there is undoubtedly some folks who are there only to look at kids naked. nudist camps have to be a haven for low life degenerates ... even if they try to weed em out. |

I'm sure there isn't really a lot of good data on this issue, though. It is too rare a scenario to make a good natural experiment and obviously not the sort of thing you can apply to families as some sort of experimental treatment. Well, not in the US. |
