If you are not a fan of bees - then close your eyes now.

Oh, that's all I need to do? That's not so bad.

Even closing your eyes doesn't always help, according to the report from the Kansas Entomological Society.

That's it, I'm nuking myself from orbit.

/some continued to suck at the slit
//huh huh huh

Here in Virginia we refer to repuglitards as being "so narrow minded a flea can sit on the bridge of their nose and drink out of both eyeballs at the same time."

"The researchers tried to lure the bees away from the eyeballs with other food, such as meat, cheese and even Ovaltine, but the bees only had eyes for one thing - the weeping tears of humans."

Now don't get too carried away there, Eddie. Apart from the fact that a weep tear and a tear from an excess of normal lubrication of the eyes are known to differ slightly. Nevertheless, I'm sure the bees would love both.

/Oh the thought of crying Thais being accosted by bees

FTA: "It is thought the bees are attracted to miniscule quantities of protein found in our tears. They may also be attracted to the salt content like their New York cousins who, as was reported last week, like to lick the sweat from people on the street."

morans. animals sweat. people perspire.

So we have bees that drink sweat and bees that drink tears. If we can find some that clean up stale mountain dew and cheeto dust I think I may have a cunning plan in the works.

Thankfully the species of bee - lisotrigona - is unlikely to be found at the bottom of the garden. It is only native to Thailand, and has not been found in Europe or the Americas.

For now, I'm sure some nit wit will have an "event" where a queen and some drones "escape"

faith in humanity? No, why do you ask?

Looks like evolution outsmarted itself. I just found out these bees are stingless. They'll have to try to scrape the eyeball with their mandibles to induce tears.

FTFA: Closing the eye did not necessarily dislodge bees but some continued to suck at the slit.

So naked women must be especially vulnerable.

Kind of reminds me of Chinese zookeepers who like to lick monkey butts. Researchers believe they may be attracted to peanuts.

FTA: "It is thought the bees are attracted to miniscule quantities of protein found in our tears. They may also be attracted to the salt content..."

So, they're attracted to fluids that are high in both protein and salt content? I'm thinking god might have finally implemented a plan to save the kittens from the chronic masterbaters of the world.

Bees are livestock
Bee's need salt in their diet.
Bee's will land on salt blocks left out for cattle in the fields and suck up the salt.
