| Romney on today's anemic job report: "We should be seeing 500,000 jobs a month." Reality: there have only been 4 months in the last 50 years with that kind of growth |

I think they're taking this out of context. What he really said was that we should be downsizing 500,000 jobs a month. This is just way outside his M.O. |

Reality doesn't matter. The intent is to intentionally distort debate instead of talking about the facts. |

AdolfOliverPanties ![]() TWO INVISIBLE DICKS? |

| Grand_Moff_Joseph Via TP: ![]() Looking at the chart, all but two of the 500K+ job growth events occurred under Democratic administrations. The two Republicans: Eisenhower Reagan So, basically, 14 democratic administrations and two Republicans who couldn't get out of a primary today if they tried. |
||
| MaudlinMutantMollusk Then start doing your thing, oh, Great Job Creator /you got your tax cuts, now start creatin' or start payin' |
||
| Angry Drunk Bureaucrat So is he saying that President can create jobs now, or not? Or is it that the President can create some jobs, but more if he's a Republican? Shouldn't he be proposing a tax cut by now? |
||

| ManateeGag I think he meant to say "jobs LOST. You know how he likes firing people. |

| Nadie_AZ GROW SOME BALLS YOU F*CKING MEDIA ASSHOLES! GROW THEM AND TELL HIM HE'S FULL OF shiat! This goes with Obama, and all the rest of them. But the GOP is, by far, the worst of the worst. |

| FlashHarry Nadie_AZ: GROW SOME BALLS YOU F*CKING MEDIA ASSHOLES! GROW THEM AND TELL HIM HE'S FULL OF shiat! they will NEVER do this. the media favors romney and the GOP by a mile. even today on NPR, i was hearing a story about how most of the ads so far have been by superpacs and how they're 70 percent negative (vs 90 percent positive this time in '08). they failed to mention that 90 percent of the superpac ads are from GOP-leaning groups. but, no... their narrative is that "both sides are the same." |

| Nadie_AZ FlashHarry: they will NEVER do this. the media favors romney and the GOP by a mile. If only to make the race ... interesting. And by interesting, I mean they want ratings. More ratings means more money spent on them for advertising. |

Romney also said that we should be at a 4% unemployment rate. I don't think that has ever even happened before... |

Obama could be running against Satan himself and the MSM would still be trying to push a horse-race story. |
||
| AdolfOliverPanties Romney is great at lowering the unemployment rate in Indonesia, Taiwan etc... Due to SuperPacs, we are becoming less and less important. Our votes count but our voices cannot be heard. And stupid people will believe the lies that Romney spouts because of the power of advertising. This morning he said that nuclear power needs to be ramped up and Obama hasn't allowed a single permit for a new reactor. In fact, one is being built in Georgia right now and another permit has been granted to build another one. Oil drilling in the U.S. has never been higher, but you will hear the opposite from Romney, about how Obama's resistance to drilling for our own resources is killing America. If it wasn't for the fact that Romney is a completely unlikeable, obviously phony buffoon, I would be worried about this election. If he was a normal guy, the Republicans would have a chance due to the obfuscation done by super pacs. |
||
| Jackson Herring NowhereMon: Romney also said that we should be at a 4% unemployment rate. I don't think that has ever even happened before... Basically the unemployment rate we should be at is about 1% lower than whatever it is at any given time that a Democrat is president. |

| Weaver95 Romney's people have told him about the internet, right? I mean...he knows that hard data is available online, yes? I just don't get it. how can you get up on stage and just lie knowing that your speech is going to be fact checked before you're even out the door....? |

| Farker Soze
With Romneys help, China could easily pull that off. |

I just don't get it. how can you get up on stage and just lie knowing that your speech is going to be fact checked before you're even out the door....? The man doesn't realize that people can check anything in his past. He can say two different things on two different days, diametrically opposed to one another, and he just ignores that, and goes on ahead. The sad thing? The Idiot Brigade doesn't bother with it, because they'll vote for any damn thing with an R beside it, to "Get the Libs!" as opposed to anything approaching sane policy. It's not about ideological purity, it's about sane policy, and we need some. Badly. |

I just don't get it. how can you get up on stage and just lie knowing that your speech is going to be fact checked before you're even out the door....? Because we can fact-check all we want, and the average low-information voter will never see it. TV news and newspapers don't bother to check this stuff, except in the opinion columns of all things. |

And I suppose I'll hear this bs talking point repeated nearly verbatim for every jobs report from here until 2016, won't I? |

| shower_in_my_socks So now Romney wants to CREATE jobs for Americans? Yet another flip-flop. |

| Lenny_da_Hog Again, GOP, I will pose the question that everyone is avoiding. What is the GOP's plan that does not involve either: a.) Rolling back Obama initiatives, or b.) Returning to the Bush-era economic policies that brought us to this in the first place? Tell us, Romney. |

| TimonC346 Mugato: Romney talking about jobs? I think I saw one of his balls chasing Indiana Jones. This. This slimy arsehole needs to remember he's made his work destroying peoples' lifestyles. Everything he says regarding jobs loses at least some credibility because of that. |

We have to look at this in full context. We all know that millionaires are the true job creators in this country. Consider that Mitsy is worth, on the high side of estimates, about $200 Million. So he's looking at a goal for jobs that is only 1/4% of his job creating potential. To us, 500,000 is a lot. To him, it's a fleet of Caddies for the Missus. |

I just don't get it. how can you get up on stage and just lie knowing that your speech is going to be fact checked before you're even out the door....? This has been the case for YEARS. It hasn't come back to bite a single Republican politician in the ass in a significant way. Not once. The closest I can think of is having to make a statement that something 'wasn't intended to be a factual statement'. That's the closest to accountability any republican candidate has gotten for electioneering lies. |

Bush took office with a 4.2% unemployment rate. April 2004 it was 5.6%. Bush never got back to the rate where he started. |

LinkConservatives have a hard time with reality. Only a single year in the past 50 broke the 6% growth threshold (7.19%) before immediately returning to a realistic 4% then 3%. Link Two other years do peak at just under 6%. |
