Fantastic news. NBC was asinine to pass this up when they had it. |

| MBK Apos: Fantastic news. NBC was asinine to pass this up when they had it. Sometimes a show benefits from being on cable, they can get away with things that network TV can't. Sure the audience may be smaller, but you can have more creative freedom when creating episodes. |

| NeedlesslyCanadian Huzzah. While I still lament the cast being cut down so much from what it was originally, it remains a terrific show. |
||
| texdent Never seen the show, rarely watch anything on TNT. |
||
| KellyLockhart Shorter seasons often make for tighter writing, which is what I've seen with Southland. I, like NeedlesslyCanadian, do miss the larger cast, but the characters that have been kept are getting deeper and more interesting each episode. |

Still,it might have done for NBC what NYPD Blue did for ABC if they'd simply taken a chance on it. Their loss. |

I can say that I'm more likely to give a drama or action show a try on TNT/Spike/USA then I would on a network. |

Excellent! Been watching it since the first season on NBC. It's like "Boomtown" but with better writing. My "must watch" list (in no particular order): Southland The Walking Dead Breaking Bad Justified Sons of Anarchy Portlandia |

I remember seeing the first episode back when it was on NBC. They seemed to be trying WAAAY too hard to compete with cable. Can't curse? Have the characters curse and then we'll bleep it. That was absolutely stupid. And shake that camera around a lot too. It makes walking and driving more exciting. Maybe it got better. |

| Tellingthem One of my favorites. The show got me hooked from the first episode and I've been watching ever since. |

This show ranks as one of the best cop shows ever. I was hooked from episode one and love every minute. I was bummed that they lost a lot of main characters in their switch to cable, but the ones they kept are strong and keep that show going. /And Lucy Liu is hot as fark in uniform //Same for Regina King. |

Yep and actually surprised me a bit with her acting. It is too bad she had a one season and done role. |

It was a shame. Strong character though. She gave Cooper a run for his money. |

Good news, indeed. The only problem I had with last season(and I wasn't alone on this) was the tenor of the majority of Lydia's cases. It seemed like they all involved a child and usually ended up being some sort of life lesson for her as a mother-to-be. It became monotonous after a while. Other than that, it was an excellent season. |

Other than that, it was an excellent season. Yeah i get what they were trying to do with her character but it was done poorly. But that says worlds about Regina King as an actress. Even with the sloppy writing she is still one of the best characters on the show. |

I just discovered Southland this year and I love it. I enjoy cop shows and it's definitely one of the best. |

Southland is the first cop show I can actually enjoy watching since The Wire. And even being mentioned in the same sentence is high praise, IMO. |
||

kenoshallini I an looking forward to netflix getting more than just the first season. Found a site where you can watch them all. Sometimes you have to click on the player three or four times to get it to start, but I've watched all of season 3 on here. Enjoy |
