Good. Ingesting nutmeg to get high is a real headache.

The Justice Department has been shutting down all kinds of legal
medical marijuana dispensaries so don't get too comfortable Conneticut

I see an increase in out-of-state visitors taking driving tours of your great state, subby. Lots of interstate commerce.

Bummer the Feds regulate interstate commerce and, oh!, marijuana is still against the law as far as the US government is concerned.

We can buy beer on Sundays? When did that change?

As for the article, it sounds like a sensible solution - allow it for medical purposes, and put tight controls on its use. That defuses the suggestion that the state is taking the first step towards legalization.

Came here to make that comment and wait for all the people who will say that that is an urban legend.

In Texas we can purchase beer after 12p, but State Law forbids the sale of liquor.

I can still remember a time where stores were legally required to be closed on Sunday per the 'Blue Laws'

well, yeah - God doesn't want to be praised by a wasted congregation, would you?

/The blue laws in Colorado were only struck down a few years ago - now you can buy liquor and a car on the day of the Lord!

No.

That will require a generational change

People (usually older) who have a "reefer madness" level of understanding will always think pot is a big deal and consider it an ultra important, save the country, election issue.
People 9usually younger) who aren't hysterically ignorant won't consider it to be a big deal and will be more likely to vote based on other issues.

at least that's the only explanation I can see for the timidity of political leaders when a majority of people actually realize how stupid prohibition is.

Don't get too happy, farkers. You can't grow your own stuff, and you'll have to trust a pharmacist (who probably knows jack shiat about how it was grown) to make sure it's clean, because you have to get it from them.

You're still better off in Cali.

Just wait till Obama gets the news. It'll be like the Hitler in that scene from Downfall. "what do you mean my justice department raids in CA haven't curbed other states from legalizing pot?"

"Medical" cannabis makes about as much sense as "medical" alcohol.

NONE.

It's farking STUPID.

The cannabis fear mongering, ignorance, and idiocy needs to come to a screeching halt, and it needs to be LEGALIZED. PERIOD.

Criminalization and prohibition is farking stupid, and doesn't do a damn thing except waste tax dollars on enforcement and incarceration, and create violence due to the need to operate outside of the "law".

The sooner we reform our drug laws and treat it as a medical problem, rather than a criminal problem, the better.

He supposedly hung around with prostitutes, tax collectors and the rest of society's "socially undesirables", so I have no reason to believe He would not hang around with a drunkard

when does "buying beers on Sunday" actually start? Because tomorrow is Sunday. I have about 16 beers in the garage. Probably enough for me but what if I have company?

Awesome Connecticut growers, you can now participate in the bustling online clone trade. Go get your cards CT heads, if it's anything like CA you pay ~$50 once a year to legally buy, smoke, and grow personal amounts of pot. It is issued for anxiety, sleeping trouble, depression, etc, you dont have to be a cancer patient. No more hassles by uppity cops trying to bust you for something less harmful than alcohol. And with indoor growing technology nowadays, odor control is inexpensive and almost foolproof, you can turn half of an unused room, an unused bathroom, a corner of the garage, etc. into a nice little legal pot garden. Gardening is quite stress relieving. You can easily grow more than you need within plant limits in CA as well, the pot shops will buy pot in excess of $3000 (suckers) a pound some places here in southern CA. Grow more than you need legally, and get rid of the excess to the shops for a handsome profit. Email in profile for any CT farkers who might have more questions about the medical process.

There are medical uses. HOWEVER most people I know that have a card don't need it for a legitimate medical reason. And the few that do have a medical reason to use it use it even when that reason isn't occurring. Also what kind of prescription says "use as much as you want for a year." It's a joke, I wish we'd just drop the wink and a nod and legalize it.

/wish my Codine scrip said "as much as you want for a year"

Hmm, found this one after RTFA, d'oh.

Marijuana would be dispensed only by pharmacists who obtained a special license. Qualifying patients and their primary caregivers would be required to register with the Department of Consumer Protection.

"We don't want Connecticut to follow the path pursued by some other states, which essentially would legalize marijuana for anyone willing to find the right doctor and get the right prescription,"

[WTF is this shiat. jpg]

Well, congratulations at least to CT farkers who may have had a serious ailments they previously were afraid to use cannabis for...

Well you need state ID for the physician, he isn't going to give a KY resident access to CT legalized pot. If you came up with a fake ID to provide to the prescribing doctor though, at least here in CA, I bet you COULD obtain your license and obtain medicine from dispensaries and delivery services. They only check that you have a state ID and a current medical cannabis recommendation.

Keep in mind, this is a bit of a hassle, driving to other states, chances are there's a bunch of pot in your city anyway.

Not a completely fake ID, rather your info imposed on the state for native medical cannabis... The $20 fake ID websites could probably pull that kind of thing off easily.

What is wrong is a plague of asssticks wedged way too far up the alementary canal of far too many "Deciders" of other peoples lives.
Get the fark out of running(ruining) other peoples personal choices.
If it harms noone else, it is none of your business, much less requiring legal "guidance".

Yeah from my understanding this was going to only be for serious conditions like cancer, hiv/aids, etc. It's not gonna be like cali where you get your lifetime medical card for falling down smowboarding.

The one thing i saw on that list was PTSD but i wonder if they'll put you through the wringer before giving you a script.

This will always exist. I get more the sense that you might not have a hard time finding a doctor to prescribe it to you, probably more of an access of obtaining the drug after you get written a prescription, mostly because of the fear of the federal crackdown. Who wants to risk their whole legit pharmacy being shut because they are selling pot.

I wish this was the case, but I doubt it. He already made the promise NOT to crackdown on CA's legal dispensaries. So he took the political fallout at the time he said it, and if he'd left it alone no one would have anything else to say. Now it's a broken promise to a state that he already knows he's going to win, with no ramifications outside of the state because it's not like the raids are in the national spotlight. In otherwords he isn't convincing the prudish mother in OH to vote for him because he's keeping the drugs away from her snowflakes. I seriously don't get the point of the raids because they are seemingly random, it's not like they are trying to shut down all the pot shops, just scare them? But I also don't understand why he signed a re-up on the patriot act.

If I was the republican party I would take a stance of more personal freedom, move toward national legalization with local options on criminalization/restriction (like booze), and steal the gay rights thunder from the democrats by killing off DoMA. Basically steal issues that the democrats are afraid to touch because they fear losing southern democrats (and that some prominent republicans already endorse). It's not like the republicans will lose votes, fundies will still vote R, because the other guy is a "muslim' terrarist."

/end of rant :)

Isn't going to help me, though I wish it would.

I suffer from severe chronic joint (heh) pain. A whole lot of years in the Infantry destroyed my knees, a shoulder, and both hands. I pop Aleve like they are M&Ms. Getting home from work and rolling one after a shower would be SO awesome.

But since I'm a truck driver I have the Federal DOT rules I have to follow, and they've made it VERY clear that even if you have a prescription if you smoke pot you'll lose you're license.

Like it or not, the fight to end the war on drugs continues on the state level.

Come for the weed, stay for the butt-raping taxes.
