That looks pretty stupid. And subby's definition of "fine art" and my definition of "fine art" seem to be mutually exclusive sets.

I am no art critic, but in my humble opinion this is conceptually as dull as the execution. I've seen far more interesting different takes on the Star Wars world on Deviant Art alone. Calling these pieces "daring" is a joke.

Also how does the Yoda image which looks like the cover of a 70's sci-fi novella fit in?

Alright, I'll say it. Not just because of this "artwork," which was in fact boring.

I DON'T GET IT. And by "it," I mean Star Wars, or sports.

/ I know, I know, it's what you watched when you were young.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the "Victorian / Steampunk Star Wars" thing has been played out, and not very well.

Formula for Nerd Blog Fame:

1. Pick a beloved franchise (Star Wars, Mario, Star Trek, etc.)

2. Pick a beloved genre/style or other franchise (steampunk, western, fantasy, He-Man, Thundercats, etc.)

3. Combine them.

4. Show fellow nerds. Enjoy pats on the back and requests for t-shirts.

5. Repeat.

Kinda unimpressed. It's mostly just a bunch of the characters wearing old suits. Jabba with a big moustache is humorous, but that's about all it's got.

I misread the headline as "Vicodin-inspired Star Wars artwork" which doubtless would have made for a far more interesting exhibit.

So much this. Steampunk sucks, and it's strangling any kind of alternate history stuff by association.

I'd have made the R2 guy legless (amputated) and rolling around on a cart or on crutches.

Wow! So creative! I saw these I had a total nerdgasm! This inspired me to write some steampunk Star Wars fan fiction!

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP
Star Wars came out thirty farking years ago. Chill out about it. No one else cares anymore. It's just a movie series. Not a goddamn lifestyle.

They gave Don a lightsaber bo. Leo was a no brainer.

So either they gave Raph lightsaber nunchaku for (that's what it looks like to me), or they gave Mike a regular sword and Raph has some farked up sais? I assumed the former.

Speaking of which

There's nothing inherently wrong with steam punk. It's the individual that turd things up.
