| gopher321 Most interesting? In what way? |
||
| Darth_Lukecash Different in that it shows someone killing animals, instead of having them as a wacky sidekick. And that it looks pretty violent/war movie. |
||
| MBK gopher321: Most interesting? In what way? He kills a whole bunch of midgets towards the end (of the trailer). |
||
| MaudlinMutantMollusk Too bad they don't have the Internet in India or copies might, you know, wander away |
||
| Barfmaker MBK: gopher321: Most interesting? In what way? He kills a whole bunch of midgets towards the end (of the trailer). And then he becomes Darth Vader? |

| The My Little Pony Killer
I look forward to being able to watch pirated copies of this later this year. |
||
| RexTalionis Feels like The Prince of Egypt, doesn't it? |
||
| timujin There'll probably be an English translation in the not too distant future. |

What is this, Pocahontas 3? |

| Fano gopher321: Most interesting? In what way? Have you ever seen a Disney character with his belly swollen with jackfruit? |

| 100 Watt Walrus
Why were the title cards throughout the trailer in English, I wonder. |

Disney: Ok, let's take out this violence, blood, and gore. Get it to a G rating, it'll make way more money that way. /too bad, it looks good the way it is. |

While the animation isn't quite up to Disney standards, Maybe in the character detail, but that was a lot smoother and cleaner than most of the shiat they've been cranking out the last 10-12 years. |
||
| Handsome B. Wonderful
Looks like shiat. |
||
| Fano 100 Watt Walrus: Why were the title cards throughout the trailer in English, I wonder. With more languages than states, English is a lingua franca for India |

A high-quality take on the main points of the Arjuna/Krishna conversation that is the Bhagavad Gita would be pretty cool. |

I'd have to disagree. You could maybe argue it's smoother, but that's because it's CG. I have to whole heartedly agree it's not up to even modern Disney standards. Sure there really hasn't been much traditional animation coming out of them in the past decade, but when they do it, it's still among some of the best animation in the world. The latest Winnie the Pooh and The Princess and the Frog are perfect examples. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the animation field who prefers this cel shaded look to traditional hand drawn animation. I've seen cell shaded done very well, and this isn't even among the best stuff I've seen. |

Still, as far as scope and going outside the traditional Disney safe zone this is definitely the most interesting (non-Pixar) thing Disney has done in a long time. Which makes sense, since they didn't do it. |

Yes their theatrical work is still top notch, but the rest has been trash. |

Interesting, an adaptation of the character Arjuna from the Mahabharata. The question I have is how much of that massive tale are they going to try to stuff into a 90-120 minute movie? And how much are they going to mess with it? Disney, don't mess this up. Indians know their epic tales very well. If you do it right you'll make a ton of cash. /They've got the scene where Drona is teaching archery, but is Yudhisthira going to be the one gambling or Arjuna? //Better be Yudhisthira |

If Disney's name is on it, its up to Disney standards. period, point, blank. Unless the author is suggesting someone illegally slapped Disney's logo on the front. |

Branch Dravidian: I wonder if Duryodhana's death scene is in there... /ghastliest mythical hero/superhero/supervillain kill ever //hurts just thinking about it Yeah, that is pretty wince inducing. He did have a pretty bad-ass death speech prepared, even after death by mace to the groin. I'd assume Karna's death is in there since he's Arjuna's main rival. |

There's a fair number of Indian-owned theaters in southern California that show Bollywood imports. Might catch this if it drifts over here. |

Visuallly sumptuous. I'd watch it with subtitles, sure. |

Huge fan of animation, the cgi backgrounds were topnotch and gorgeous, the cell shaded character work was horribad and particularly disappointing since I was looking forward to see what the Indian Bollywood technicolor aesthetic did with the animated medium. |
||
| Miss Stein RexTalionis: Feels like The Prince of Egypt, doesn't it? A couple of the opening shots were reminiscent of The Lion King. /also a Mulan vibe here and there. |

dionysusaur: A high-quality take on the main points of the Arjuna/Krishna conversation that is the Bhagavad Gita would be pretty cool. Exactly. But how is Disney going to explain the reasons behind the war which is over a woman who may have been gang-banged by her cousins? |

for some reason i thought of the little shiats in diablo two that rape my sorcerer when i saw the small animal things at the end. however they bother me no more since i got my chain lightning |

Is it about the same Arjuna who was the archer whom worked with Krishna? He's a pretty interesting character, he, like Achilles, slummed about for a few years as pretending to be a woman to avoid the war between the families whose names I don't remember. |
||
| Somacandra PonceAlyosha: Is it about the same Arjuna who was the archer whom worked with Krishna? Yes. Everyone there knows the Bhagavad Gita, so this is a backstory--like a prequel for that, it appears.Yudhishtira,:Draupadi--the main actors are coming together. Its clearly not a Bollywood production though. I don't think that sort of thing would go over well. |

Interesting. Though, I have always wondered what will happen if you give James Cameron a chance to do Mahabharata, shiats would be so epic. All other takes on the Indian epics have always been marred by cheesy special effects. |

Um, unless I'm mistaken, nothing in that film is hand drawn. Its all CGI made to look like cell animation. I've seen that technique used by Disney to cheat on some minuscule elements (buildings, wagons, etc.) on some of their 2-D films, but this is the first time I've seen it used to create an entire movie. |
