Whatever you do, don't include a photo of he label you're reporting on. That would just be good journalism, and we can't have that, now can we?

Hey, if anything this bottle of vodka is going to keep me safe. I can smash it to fend off my attackers when I fail to read the map and I walk into the wrong neighborhood. And when it's all said and done, they can use whatever's left to clean my blood off their hands.

Drinking is a thing for men. Not for women or pansies. Man up and accept that alcohol and violence go together like war and rape.

"...what seems to be an effort to cash in on the gang violence that has plagued the community for decades"

Oh, anything but that. How dare anybody shine a spotlight on our huge racial and class differences and our complete inability to solve the simplest societal problems. I mean, they nearly had those problems swept under the rug, at least well enough their problems weren't in the national news; and for somebody to make money doing it.....well, that just seems unAmerican.

FTFA: "Lewis wants to sit down with whoever made it, but I'm not sure he'll get the chance. The supplier only answered my questions with those of his own in a 15-minute phone conversation Friday.

"You're asking me all these questions about what's going on with this vodka, but you won't tell me anything about you," he said. "How long you been at your job? What's your wife's name? How many girlfriends you got? You ever cheated on your wife? Answer me some questions.""

So, somebody wants to interview the manufacturer, but they refuse to answer any questions and instead start asking the interviewer if they cheat on their wife and for her name?

Oh yeah, that sounds like a legit and professional outfit.

Let them alone!

Grey Geese don't impress the boyz in the hood. They just think they are pigeons.

And what does wintry scenes have to do with San Diego? San Diego is not in the mountains. They have a naval base. You have to be a Red State to have a naval base more than 500 miles from the coast.

FTFA : "They don't know if the vodka has any connection to local gangs but said it's selling, more often for the label than the liquor itself, which is 80 proof and retails for $20 a bottle."

They're too damn drunk to shoot straight. Keep low and hope they don't aim for the one in the middle.

Yeah, I'd like to say, partly to talk about it, and partly to let the new guy in on the mood here a little bit. Uh.. Mr. Belvedere is.. the light of my life. Um.. I know I speak for the others.. uh, when I say he is.. so amazing.. you know? And, uh.. he's just.. I wish.. you know.. I wish I could know him more, you know? Because.. he.. he is one of a kind, you know? He's.. I think about him all the time, and.. well, I'm wondering - should we kill him?

are you touched? slow? dim-witted? simpleminded? imbecilic?

San Diego is on the coast, and it's backed against mountains. I see snow on the mountains from out of my window, within the city limits.

because gangs in San Diego are a joke compared to LA, or Tijuana. They have two gangland episodes and the Lincoln Park gang killed a cop in 1984, and that was the worst they could come up with. And Logan Heights was a bit worse but they killed a priest in 1993 and the backlash took them out of prominence, and I can't picture it being any better since the cartel wars in TJ after Arellano Félix was captured.

So, when does the company get approached by the FBI and discovered to be a money laundering facility used by the very gangs advertised on the bottle? When are their assets seized, their business relationships traced, and the morons who thought this was a good idea arrested?

Because it is horrible that someone puts a map of gang turf on a bottle of booze.

But the people the DOE can do all sorts of interesting things with uranium and plutonium, companies can make landmines, and Cisco can sell equipment to China to censor their internet.

I know it would have to be done by someone, but the service worthy of headline questioning the ethics of the company is the one with the gang turf map on the bottle of booze.

/Local news is mentally challenged.

This article was a hit piece written by someone with a large chip on their shoulder looking to stir up shiat for more hits. The guy he called was probably friendly at first but the questions kept getting pushier and ruder to provoke a reaction, or at least a good quote, and he got it.

Note that while yellow journalism is fairly despicable, it's worth having that hard nose around in an era of fluff PR journalism, so I'm not totally down on it.
