Based on the lighting of a few, I think the hand/paper are photographed at an entirely different time - probably after the drawing was completed from tracing the original photograph.

The focus is a give away as well. A mountain a few miles away and a hand a few inches away can't be both in focus in the same frame.

Not really. Looking once, I thought they were mildly interesting and an expression of somewhat decent talent, but hardly incredible or unbelievable.

clever and well executed idea. not sure its worth an exhibit if you cant take the pics to the spot and hold them up for yourself. but very creative.

I guess that takes some talent and no small amount of planning and forethought, and yet I am still left with a meh.

There is no way those hands were even holding blank paper. If you ignore the fake shadows, you can see the paper isn't even bent slightly under the thumb. Some of the hands aren't even lit like the rest of the photos. Look at the one with the donkeys that frogstomper posted... does that even look slightly real to you?
