I don't think "appeal to the lowest common denominator" is that secret of a recipe.

I've never heard even one of his songs. Hell I don't even own a radio. Or a computer.

He seems sadly delusional that his career is not a product created by record company creeps.

He's the Nickelback of rap.

Find a repeatable recipe for a catchy hook and run with it all the way to the bank.

The CD player in my car is broken, so i'm forced to make do with the few radio stations in my city. I hear his songs now and then and they're veritably catchy, and certainly not any worse then what else gets played most of the time.

I mostly listen to the genres subsumed under "classical", but I won't pretend to be above enjoying simple pop occasionally.

You've probably never heard of the band I listen to....."Bialys with Lox and Cream Cheese". They started in a Jewish deli in Boca Raton. There's Maxwell "Goldy" Goldstein on drums, Judith "The Yenta" Cohen on bass, Abraham "Rabies" Rabinowitz on guitar and Moses "The Plague" Mandel on lead vocals. They're a punk/goth band and write their songs in Yiddish. You wouldnt understand.

The only part of that one song of his that you hear everywhere is the only part without him in it. I looked it up after it earwormed me and imagine my surprise to suddenly hear rap lyrics.
