Didn't have an abortion, even as a single 17-year old. |
| FloydA She loaned me some money, without interest, so I could pay the bills and not lose my house. That was pretty awesome. |
| gopher321 Approved of a girlfriend everyone else hated. |
| A Terrible Human
She left my father. |
| internutthead
Put up with my crap for 18 years. |
| WTF Indeed
Bought me from those gypsies. |
| MaudlinMutantMollusk Didn't strangle me any of the many, many times I'm sure she was sorely tempted to |
| Weaver95 disowned me. seriously. i've been disowned, and not just facebook disowned either. then again, dear old mother is a certified lunatic. Narcissistc Borderline Personality DIsorder, to be precise. so being disowned by someone like that is actually quite a blessing. trust me - you do NOT want to be around a pathological narcissist! it's soul draining. |
| hubiestubert She divorced my Dad and gave me up. She was nowhere near ready to be a Mom, and it would have been a lot worse for everyone if she'd stayed. My Aunt Gail is the woman who I call the closest thing to a Mother. She took me in at 15, and she and my Uncle Brian undid a lot of the damage that my alcoholic father did in the intervening years. She's who I called today, and she's the woman most responsible for me being the man I am today, other my Grandmother who raised me when my Dad was overseas. |
| gameshowhost All of those sack lunches... peanut butter filled celery... the carrots with black olives stuck on each end... *sigh* TY mom! |
| elvisaintdead My old man. |
| bigpeeler When my dad was gone, she'd let me suck on her titties. |
| namegoeshere
Not freak out when I crashed her car and it was my fault. She was totally cool about it. Just wrote the check and called it a learning experience, and never mentioned it again. My dad on the other hand... Come to think of it, she also never told my Dad about a lot of the stuff I did. Which was really nice because he did not handle those sort of shenanigans well. |
| IamKaiserSoze!!! She didn't kill me in my sleep although I gave her ample justication. /no jury would have convicted her either |
| SilentStrider Got me a subscription to Playboy when I was in High School (pre-internet days, obviously). And took me to get my ear pierced in between my freshman and sophomore years of college. I still have the piercing, 16 years later. |

| JasonOfOrillia She and my dad helped support me between jobs when I got out of school in the early 90's. God that was depressing time to be unemployed. Kids have it worse now. |

Handjob? |

She made my grandfather stop the truck and back up to get me when the coyotes were circling around me in the middle of the night. Another 5 minutes or so and I would have been eaten by coyotes. |

Bought me nice frilly pink dresses. |

| TheMaskedArmadillo Not to get too mushy here (it is FARK)...My mother was painfully ill since I can remember (she passed when I was 8). Every day regardless of how she was feeling, she let me know how much she loved me and my sister. She left us with a great man (who I believe she inspired) to raise my sister and I. Three college degrees and two very well adjusted families later here we are. I believe despite her limited time with us, she had a lot to do with it... |

Gave birth to me. |

| I May Be Crazy But...
On my 8th birthday, she let me out of the cellar for an hour so I could have a birthday like the other kids, with cake and everything. I'll always cherish that memory. |

She wrote me a cheque or three to cover my rent when I was unemployed for about a year (no questions asked). /then gave the cheque to my Dad for me to pick up //he wasn't happy about me being a so-called "deadbeat" ///love you and miss you Mom!!! |

She told me not to walk Danzig's way or to hear his words. |
| Shakespeare's Sister
Well . .give me time. . .I. . no wait, that was not her. . .there was the time. . .no, that was not her either. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh yeah: She told me to abort my child (my son who is now 9) when I was in grad school, and when I did not, she told me I had ruined my life, that I would drop out of college, and be a nothing. When I earned my MA in English, she said "What are you going to do. . .teach?" She said this as if she were asking "What are you going to be. . a crack whore or a gutter slut?" I have been a college prof since January 2003. I was just accepted to Austin Peay for their MA in American Military History--which I will apply quite nicely to the American Literature and Composition and Argument classes I teach. Oh, and thanks for moving me in with your mother--the all expense paid trip to the burn ward she gave me when I was very young was quite fun. I guess I should have been more patient for the Jello. I got it. It was just still boiling at the time. Grandma is dead. Mom lives in California; I am in Tennessee. That is good. |

So I got to grow up with a normal father a few years later since I was quite young at the time. |

Sorry to hear that. Similar situation here, although not borderline, but definitely has the narcissistic PD and add devout / highly hypocritical religious type. Saw her once in the last 10 years and that was only at my younger brother's funeral (accidental heroin overdose). The sad thing is she is unable to accept any responsibility for anything and has never once in her life said she was sorry for anything. She was a great mom when I depended on her for my survival but has left a smoldering trail of pain and sorrow in her wake. Happy mother's day you crazy sad biatch. |
| Chariset She shrugged off despair and found a place for us to live after Dad decided his former life was a burden too great to be borne. And it's only now that I've lived through a year of financial hell that I appreciate it. I wish I'd been more grateful then, but I was 17 and all I could see was what I'd lost. |
| studebaker hoch elvisaintdead My old man. And we're done. |

Didn't kill me when I took the new car without asking and totaled it. |

decided to beat me with the wooden serving spoon instead of the metal one |
| Weaver95 b0rscht: The sad thing is she is unable to accept any responsibility for anything and has never once in her life said she was sorry for anything. . yup. classic signs of a narcisstic personality. but once you accept that they are literally incapable to accepting responsiblity for their actions, you can walk away clean. plus - you cannot ever take anything a BPD says at face value. they lie as easily as they breathe. |

She made sure the house was clean, the clothes were washed, the food was cooked, and my owies had band-aids. When I go to visit her nowadays she makes me grilled cheese sandwiches when I get there in the middle of the night. Thanks mommy. |
