If Warren loses to Scott Brown in one of the bluest states with Obama at the top of the ticket. Seriously, Coakley couldn't have run a worse campaign. As long as she doesn't insult a beloved sports icon, she's gonna do fine. //Especially since Scott Brown pissed off the teabaggers. |

There's your problem right there. I bet the Herald editors are so concerned. |

The latest poll results show the candidates are in a dead heat, but the campaign hasn't really gotten going yet. Everything points to no one farking knows, but I've got a deadline so here's some derp. |

If the Democratic Party can't get Warren elected in Mass, it is time to retire the brand. |

| Lost Thought 00 Well, Massachusetts residents can determine for themselves whether they want to become the next Wisconsin, aka laughing stock of the entire country, or not. |

| Wyalt Derp "except for the fact there seems to be gathering evidence she used these claims to get ahead, claiming minority status" Please, do show me the 'evidence' for this 'fact'. Or is it more of a "some people are saying..."? |

Such a farking stupid issue. In any case, she never "lied". The word "lie" means that you knew X and you said Y. It seems clear to me that she honestly thought that she had Indian ancestors; that's different than "lying". Heck, it hasn't been proved that she doesn't have Indian ancestors. If she loses the race due to this non-scandal it'll be pathetic. |

Wyalt Derp: "except for the fact there seems to be gathering evidence she used these claims to get ahead, claiming minority status" Please, do show me the 'evidence' for this 'fact'. Or is it more of a "some people are saying..."? The "fact" is that "there seems to be" something. Similarly, it would be a "fact" to say that "some people are saying". It says nothing about the truth of that something or what people say. So, the journalist isn't reaaaaaly lying. |

Is TFA author concerned? Some are saying it's too early to tell. Can anything be learned be looking at this tea-tard's other contributions to "Yahoo Contributor Network"? Unnamed sources are suggesting, "Who knows?" |

This is the most incredible thing I've ever witnessed. In my state you have an actual sitting US Senator demanding that his opponent disclose her genetic makeup as if she is somehow entitled to it. The guy who hired her at Harvard is a conservative legal legend who has said OVER AND OVER that it never once even came up in her recruitment and we have Brown just ignoring this and acting like she was some sort of charity case. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren is EXACTLY the kind of politician we need in washington. We need another 99 of her in fact. I cannot wait to see Scott Brown get torn apart by this woman. |

meat0918: As long as she doesn't insult a beloved sports icon, she's gonna do fine. You mean the beloved sports icon who moved his business out of the state to get a government subsidy, and then needed a massive bailout to avoid defaulting on his loans? I say she should go for it. It may remind people of the retarded reason that Scott Brown won in the first place. |

I have no problem with your lifestyle, the pony just happens to be a little creeped out is all. Well, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm not a Brony. I have watched the show and thought it was a good cartoon, though. I just think it's funny to see peoples' reactions to it, since you often see people - rather progressive, inclusive types - for whom even this is a bit much. And that's funny. |

It seems clear to me that she honestly thought that she had Indian ancestors; that's different than "lying". Heck, it hasn't been proved that she doesn't have Indian ancestors. If she loses the race due to this non-scandal it'll be pathetic. she lied and said she was a minority for a decade. she had well respected universities claiming she was the first woman of color hired by Harvard Law School and Harvard itself was calling her as a minority. now you are free to believe her that she really only lied and claimed a minority experience so she could meet other women that were that were *like her* (presumably others that had so little minority ancestry that they were also as white as the driven snow but also claimed minority status). you can believe that she really only *wanted to go on lunch dates with others like her* and changed her minority status after a decade when she realized the minority status box on her application wasn't in fact designed to give her a way to social network with others that had similarly miniscule minority genetic component instead of the fact that she had arrived at the top of her profession and decided the cons now outweighed the pros of lying about her minority status. you can believe she didn't have nefarious designs to take advantage of the affirmative action regulations she supports to jump ahead of real minorities. but that just means you can't open your eyes and judge what happened objectively. she claimed to be a minority because she properly judged there was a not insignificant advantage to doing so, and her claim that she did it to find other 1/32 white fake Cherokee women to have lunch with at law school for over a decade is patently f*cking ridiculous. |
||
| keylock71 Guess we'll see how it all works out in November... The non-troversy about her heritage doesn't seem to be hurting her, though. Probably because the only folks who really care about it are those who weren't going to vote for her anyway and out of state partisan clowns. |

The guy who hired her at Harvard is a conservative legal legend who has said OVER AND OVER that it never once even came up in her recruitment and we have Brown just ignoring this and acting like she was some sort of charity case. what is he gonna say? she was clearly inferior but we needed to get the first woman of color on board? in any event it doesn't matter whether the Harvard guy says it helped or even it hurt. It matters that literally the only reason she would ever claim minority status was she thought she could gain by doing it, and that it was wrong to do because she clearly has never had a minority experience of being denied opportunity because of the color of her skin. she lied about being a minority she is ipso facto douchebag of epic proportions. |

In fact, the majority of bronies aren't rule 34-ers and enjoy the show and the community platonically. I mean, I don't see any pictures of children's cartoon characters with mare's vaginas when I look at brony message boards. I see TONS OF THEM when I look at furry message boards, but not brony message boards. |

So I guess when your family told you what your ancestry was all about you called them liars and demanded to see hard DNA evidence before you would accept a word of it? You may have noticed that she isn't even remotely backing down from that claim, either which leads me to conclude that she's saying "suck it" to people like you who think this is an actual issue with any bearing on anything whatsoever. This woman is at the top of her field. There was no "affirmative action", no leg up. Charles Freid, who is a conservative legal icon and worked on the McCain campaign, and was the actual guy who recruited her, has been saying that this line of thinking is deeply, deeply wrong. Not flawed - flat out wrong but that hasn't stopped the derp parade from herping one bit. |

Nope. Come Nov she's going to wipe Scotty out. 1.9 million MA resident voted for John Freaking Kerry in 2008 on Obama's coattails, most probably not caring one way or the other. Show me where Brown finds 700,000 indies, or get's 700,000 Dems to switch their votes and I'll give you $10K! The numbers are just nuts, and he only narrowly won over Coakley, who was the worst candidate in MA in a very long time. Joking about having to rub shoulders with constituents or conversing outside Fenway park is suicide, and she still almost won! |
