It will be fun to watch the Republicans spin this into a fabricated disaster.

I'm an old man and I NEVER thought I'd live to see the day when a political party would actively attempt to suppress national prosperity for mere political gain, without even attempting to hide their actions. I NEVER thought I'd see elected politicians admit that they would participate in creating a national economic collapse so they could rewrite the constitution (senator Lee). How is this not treason? I NEVER thought I'd see an American politician publicly state that the pubic is too stupid to elect a president therefore we need to rewrite the constitution and remove that right (senator McConnell).

If the U.S. GOP was in Europe, people there would be rioting in the streets and demanding heads on plates!

It's not treason when Republicans do it.

Wow, that's great! In other news, my credit score was 325 in 2008 and now it's 330! Woo hoo!

Everyone I know thinking we are in deep shiat. People are being foreclosed, many have lost jobs and cannot find another. Hell, my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and her insurance dropped her.

I would love to know in which fantasy land this poll was conducted.

In January our profits went up. . . or down depending on which chart is right. We're not sure. February was a very different month, because as you recall we took it off.

Subby, the index goes from -100 to +100

We haven't gotten above 0 since the economic collapse, but higher is still better.

Well, hope Obamacare is upheld. The insurance dropping sick people crap, and eliminating noncoverage of pre-existing conditions ends in 2014 when the rule go in place.

Hopefully she's able to manage until then, and the whole thing isn't blown up... She's pretty screwed then... :-/

And I thought 'business confidence' was only supposed to go up when the government got the budget balances, and that combating unemployment had nothing to do with it?!? Isn't that what all the talking heads in the GOP and Europe have been saying for years? It's not demand, but balanced budgets that'll brim out the confidence fairy to make our economy fly with happy thoughts?

It's been a while since my american civics class days, but wasn't that why the electoral college was setup in the first place? Didn't the founding fathers think the general masses were too ignorant/easily misled?

It's more like the wanted to rig the system so that only the couple dozen or so people in the room at the time had any real chance at a leadership position, thereby allowing the US to be a "democracy" in name only, and still ruled by a handful of elite power brokers. And it worked spectacularly.
