| bring to a festering boil On a remote island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, a bloodbath is underway. Unchecked hordes of gigantic house mice are devouring endangered baby seabirds en masse. I say we nuke it from space. It's the only way to be sure. |

How many generations of selection for large, predatory mice have gone on in 150 years? |
||
| fusillade762 gigantic house mice How big are the houses exactly? toraque: Meh, simple fix. Import snakes to eat the mice. But aren't the snakes even worse? |

SwiftFox: How many generations of selection for large, predatory mice have gone on in 150 years? It's a made up story. The writers are not even good liars. They say these mice get up 50% larger than regular mice and then later talks about mice that are 10 inches long without the tail. Which is it? Because 10 inches long is way way more than 50% larger. |

| toraque fusillade762: gigantic house mice How big are the houses exactly? toraque: Meh, simple fix. Import snakes to eat the mice. But aren't the snakes even worse? Nonsense! If the snakes get out of hand well just import snake-eating gorillas to take care of them. |

A couple million big mice? Big deal. Totalfarkers alone probably own enough house cats to take care of the problem. T |

...the petrel chicks are in constant danger from house mice... I don't think that mice are carnivorous, but if they are hungry enough I guess they would eat damn near anything /stale pizza crust works well in a mouse trap //fresh pizza crust, not so much... need the rigidity to trigger the neck-snapping swing bar |

As soon as they eat all the birds they'll die. Problem solved. Or they'll migrate. Either way, Gough island will be rous free. |

There's no houses on the island because nobody lives on the island. How can there be house mice?! |

This article led to me reading about the little population of people who live on Tristan da cunha, near Gough island. Pretty interesting. |

I'm afraid the birds are doomed. Nobody is going to care because nobody knows how pronounce "Gough". |

CJ: Mice. Mahalik: I thought she had rats? CJ: No, rats are outside, mice are inside. Mahalik: But what if a mouse goes outside does it become a rat, and if a rat is in the house, is it a mouse? CJ: I ain't seen no mouse outside. That's what I'm sayin'. Mahalik: That's because it's a rat, fool! CJ: Damn! You mighta just made fact. That's some real shiat right there! |

SOoooo... io9... can we have a talk about your use of JS? Because I like you and all, but. Y'know. In other news the "50% bigger/10" w/o tail" comes from National Geographic which lends it some credibility. |
