One Million Moms is not pleased with Marvel and DC's homosexual comic book characters, sees no reason why they have to go and gay up something wholesome like men sneaking off to put on flamboyant costumes and grapple with each other

I highly doubt that One Million Moms, the conservative Christian group were letting their kids read comic books anyway! News flash for One Million Moms: not having gays in comic books doesn't mean they don't exist!

I don't know. Superheroes are in comic books and they don't exist in reality. Maybe if they put a gay couple in then all the gays will disappear into fiction

One Million Moms is not pleased

Are they ever? I just imagine every single person who's a part of that group is just the saddest, most pathetic person ever, just looking for reasons to be offended.

And can you imagine being a kid of one of these people? Yeesh, that would be a crappy childhood.

Their FAQ page is pretty funny. This was my favorite part:

Shouldn't we thank a network for airing "good" shows like ABC's Home Makeover?
In very rare instances, OneMillionMoms recognizes shows that are free from sex, violence, and profanity. However, we must take into account the "dirty" shows that are promoted during commercial breaks, along with the overall tone of the network. Unfortunately, the networks, as a whole, are consistantly offensive to family viewing.

Their registration appears to be completely open to anyone who wants to invent a name and throw out a junk email address. I briefly debated whether there might be any entertainment value to this, but I think it would get tiresome quickly.

So they're 0-3 so far. They had no effect whatsoever on JCPenny using Ellen as their spokeswoman (if anything, they bolstered the support behind her), they had no effect on the Toys R US situation, and they're currently having no effect with this gay comic situation. It's kind of fun to watch a hate group slowly become impotent and marginalized.

It's cute how "conservatives" keep trying to find someone to be bigoted against. Injuns, Yankees, Wop's, Micks, Ni**rs, Jew-boys, Beaners, Papists, Fa**ots, furners.

It's just so hard to figure out who it's cool to hate isn't it?

Them calling themselves "One Million Moms" reminds me of the Chris Rock sketch on his HBO show where he discussed the low turnout for the "Million Youth March" and cut to a video of one kid holding a "Fark Whitey" sign.

Hahahaha please, they take every situation where coincidences happened to line up as a victory for them. For example: The Playboy Club

The first television show of the fall season to be cancelled is "The Playboy Club" after OMM contacted sponsors! Lack of advertisers played a huge part for the shows cancellation after only three episodes. [Posted 10-5-11]

See it was all their doing, and not the fact that the show just sucked.

Here's something from DC that includes sex (both consensual and non-consensual), a man murdering a woman who is pregnant with his child, a little girl being murdered, chopped up, and fed to dogs, a man having his head chopped to pieces with a meat clever, a major city being nuked, protestors being murdered, alcoholism, abusive relationships, an old man being thrown out a window to his death, animal being murdered and their bodies being used to terrorize their owner, and much more. It's also an awesome read, and the movie was pretty badass as well.

Here's more from DC involving our wholesome friend, Superman. Did you know he made a porno with Big Barda, who was married to Mister Miracle? Yeah, he wasn't too pleased that Superman was boning his old lady. Yep, children's reading.

Don't even get me started on all the depraved things you can find in Marvel comics. Some dude liking the cawk isn't going to make those books any less wholesome or family-values oriented. And no, fanboys, don't respond with some nitpicky thing about a change they made to the Watchmen storyline that ruined the movie for you. Yes, I know they didn't develop Rorschach or Dr. Manhattan as much as in the book, and I don't farking care. The movie was already 3 hours and they did a great job.

True. But let's be clear about what we're dealing with here...

For this particular group, "Moms" = bored, spoiled, frumpy suburban housewives. Church ladies in mini-vans who probably take their kids to "Trunk R Treat" on Halloween at their local mega church, Rock of Faith Ministries.

"Children desire to be just like superheroes," reads the missive on the One Million Moms website. "Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible...

I suppose they have a point; people really do sometimes want to emulate superheroes. For example, when I saw the Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck, I remember wishing that I was blind.

Won't be necessary. Groups like this form among people who believe the world is set against them. And in the case of OMM, it is. The world is getting more progressive. The Millennial generation is less religious, more sexually liberated, and more accepting of differing people and viewpoints across the board.

They won't need an interest group because their values will become the norm, and the world will be better for it. These puritans will become more extreme and more vocal in response, but they will also have fewer and fewer people joining their ranks.

We need to go back to the good old days, when comics were decent and wholesome, and certainly not used for any sort of indoctrination...

Only if those kids are allowed to read gay comic books today. Don't you people understand? If they never hear about the gay, they won't turn atheist.

I do think that it's a hopeful sign that companies seem to be learning to differentiate actual public outcry from Astroturfed bullshiat like this. Not long ago, a company like DC or Marvel would have shiat their pants in fear of this. Now, mostly, they just ignore it.

One Million Moms isn't pleased with anything that doesn't involve them stuffing entire cheesecakes down their meaty gullets while clucking disapprovingly at other people who haven't done anything to them.

Alternately: One Million Moms have done a terrible job raising their children if they think a comic book is going to turn them gay.

Alternately alternately: Shut the fark up you ignorant hens.
