My nephew just got into town and has free tickets as usual, even an extra freebie for me, by the time I get done buying 10 dollar drinks at the MGM though, yeah not so free, still a bargain though

/might try to win it back on JdS though

Man, I would've loved to see Overeem in the JDS fight, but I'm always up to see Mir knocked into a coma. JDS is too precise, unpredictable and quick for Mir. Mir keeps droning on about his ground game being suspect, but it will remain suspect, because JDS has amazing takedown defense. If Carwin couldn't get him down, Mir has a slightly better chance than I do of getting him down.

/I hope I didn't just jinx Junior

Junior is clearly the favorite, though you can never count Mir out, considering how smooth his submissions are. Should be a really fun fight. And yes, Mir can be really annoying at times while JDS is almost impossible to dislike.

I think it is funny that they put 5-win streak Volkmann on the facebook prelims. They clearly do not want to let him spew his political crap on cable television.

I hate you.

So my picks

JDS 2nd round KO
Valasquez 1st round KO
Nelson decision
Miocic 2nd round KO
Struve 1st round Sub

Bandao 2nd round KO
Barboza decision
Miller 2nd round Sub
Hardy decision

In fact, unofficially...

Big country is going to lock up a flying armbar and Pee Wee is going to power bomb big country for the KO.

Dos Santos is going to win via gogoplata in round four

Big Foot Velasquez is going to be a draw because bigfoot breaks Velasquez's cup in the second round for a point deduction

Jamei Varner is going to lose via disqualification due to interference from Rikisih (obscure?)

Stephan Struve is going to win via TKO in round 3

and other ludicrous predictions

I decided to finally give this tapology a try. So everyone can see how awful I am at making predictions. I'm picking Mir as an upset chance, but fully expect him to get knocked out in the first round.

On the main card, your picks seem good enough, except the Mir pick. His beating might change some laws and regulations. You know when someone dies in a car wreck for not wearing a seatbelt or whatever, and they name a new piece of legislation in their memory? We might see the Frank Mir head trauma rule come into effect after tonight. I don't know what the legislation will entail, but people will be pissed that Mir ruined it for everybody.

Haha. If that legislation isn't already in place because of Chuck Liddel getting knocked out time and time again brutally, then it will be in 15-20 years when we finally have data about head injuries suffered in MMA and their long term effects.

As empty as it is, it is still loads better than Boxing. Virtually nobody shows up to boxing matches until the main event, or co-main. People ought to start showing up in droves once the prelims are finishing up.

It usually is that way before the card fights.
By the time the last fight before the card fights begin, is when you see the the arena full

They do, but few go. Funny thing, there are fights on even earlier than this(tryouts, sponsorship matches, etc).

First facebook fight

Daniel Pineda vs Mike Brown

I'll be calling Pineda as Pineda and Brown as Brown

Tott has Pineda with an inch in readh and is 10 years younger.

Round 1

The two start the fight slow, each looking to feint before throwing strikes. Brown wades in slowly, looking to range his punch. Pineda moves forward with a jab head kick combo and slips, springing back to his feet before Brown can capitalize. They reset in the center and exchange some punches with brown connecting well on the last couple. Bornw tries to counnect wiht a ocuple more but Pineda circles away. They re engage and its Pineda scoring a good punch head kick combo as they flurry shots at each other. Brown drives a takedown after a couplemore and winds up on the other side of the cage on top, almost into side control. In the mean times he's scoring punches to Pindea as Pineda looks for half guard. Pineda eventuall muscles out and scrambles on top into butterfly guard. Brown gets the feet on the hips and pushes pineda away but Pineda moves right nack on. One more push and Brown gets enough distance to get it back to the feet. HE has a leg and is looking to muscle Pineda to the ground but fails. Pineda tries a trip attempt of his own but also fails and the two eventually elect to bring it back to striking in the center of the ring. Pineda gets a couple of kicks in and then throw s aslow hook that had no hope of landing. They circle and Pindea tries a couple more. Brown moves forward with a couple of push kicks before the two are exchanging hooks again. Brown moves in with a decent right hand and they two recent in the center. He follows that with a couple of good jabs then eats a leg kick. Pineda tries a takedown and Brown reverse it with a nice hip toss, winding up on top in half guard. Brown looks to score some short hammerfists and elbows while trying to trap an arm for some heavier strikes. Pineda scrambles and barely gets it back to the feet as the round closes

10/9 Brown for takedowns.

Round 2

Pineda starts the round off with jabbs and throw sa flying knee. The two flurry off some hooks and reset in the center. Back to the flurry and back to the center. Pineda shoots a takedown, winding up on top in butterfly guard. He also has overhooks and may be waiting to sweep. Brown forgoes the sweep and scrambles to his feet, slamming pineda to the ground off the standup and winds up on top in side control. Brown looks for knees and Pineda gets a powerful sweep of his own. Bown does scramble, getting to a signel leg while Pineda threatens with a guillotine. They eventually make their way to the feet and to the cage with Brown looking for knees to the legs as the fight for wrist control. Brown follows a few knees with some good puncehs to the head and to the body that Pineda does not like. Pineda eats a few and tries to flurry a couple of hooks of his own before they break. He follows it with a spinning head kick that misses and the two reset to the center. Brown fires off a good jab and ducks a superman punch. Pineda fents a kick and switches to a side kick that is blocked. He continues with a couple of small shots and a misses spinning back fist. The two get into another exchange and some wierd strikes happen, forcing Pineda to cover up as he slips to the ground. Brown scrambles on to and winds up in full guard, looking for short elbows and body shots before failing a pass attempt. Nothing majorly lost on the attempt as he's scoring good elbows inside the guard to the end of the round.

10/9 Brown for top control. Looks like Pineda got a good elbow in from the bottom as Brown has a cut.
