Ya know, I can understand where police are going to mess up. Bad information, stupid mistakes, miscommunication, a typo in Google Maps for finding the address...

But they never seem to have to pay for those mistakes.

"Sorry we burned down your house. That sucks. Hope your insurance covers it. Just remember, if you ever need us to protect or serve, just give us a call. We're here for you."

There are days when calling the police is like having the fire department show up with flame throwers.

A Sheriff's spokeswoman is denying reports that the department has offered to pay for the damages.

That's probably true. When was the last time a cop faced consequences for their mistakes? Hope they had insurance, because otherwise they'll pay completely out of pocket and the department will NEVER pay up. Cops will probably lie like motherfarkers even if they have insurance, try to get them in court for lying, things like that. I would bet the family never sees a cent from the police.

well, if these "citizens" have illegal books instead of watching their television walls and reading magazines like they should the firemen have a duty to burn them out.

Given how often you hear of police incompetence and corruption, I think it stands to reason that people are very hungry to hear that their civil servants are actually, you know, doing what they're paid to do.

With this country's hard-on for authority, tales of heroism from the boys in blue would be very popular.

I bet those same idiot deputies will get citations for bravery for saving the lives of the three people trapped in the building by the fire the deputies caused. "Deputies grabbed a sledge hammer and a skateboard and broke off the metal bars on the windows, then broke the windows to get inside."

I discovered hospitals don't really follow DNR's either. If there is a teachable moment, the DNR will be used to help clear an airway. Funny, but that only made it harder for my sister to die 4 days later when I had to remove her from life support.

Bullshiat. Every major police department has a PR department with connections in the local media. Those stories are printed any time the cops want them, and then they get reprinted when they have the inevitable awards ceremony.

When I had a colonoscopy they asked if I had a medical directive and I told them no. They then said it didn't matter because they don't follow them.

Then I asked exactly what they planned to do during the procedure that this was an issue.

AHAHAHAHA, hold on, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, omg, that was good. Ok, you're either incredibly dense, or a terrible, terrible troll. Do you know how many people police kill every year? How many lives they save? Now compare those statistics to EMTs and firefighters. Did you do that? The police have no legal obligation to help you, they are under absolutely no legal obligation to help you whatsoever, this is according to the SCOTUS. A nurse, an EMT, a doctor, they DO have a legal obligation to render aid under, soooooo, you're wrong.

Firefighters and EMTs exist to save lives, that is their entire purpose. The police exist to enforce our laws, those are completely different jobs. EMTs are healthcare workers, not law enforcement.

Firefighters and EMTs are generally very helpful people. When I've needed help from a cop, I've never gotten any.

When a man tried to abduct me off the street when I was a teenager, they didn't care.

When I was robbed, they didn't care, and would not even investigate.

When I had my car vandalized, they wouldn't take a report.

When my meth-head neighbors were trying to smash down my door in the middle of the night, they wouldn't come.

But when I was working my butt off, going through college and trying to make something of my life to escape the white-trash county I grew up in, they were quite happy to confuse my house with the meth-head neighbor's and break down my door and throw me across the room. Now I have an injury that I will have to live with the rest of my life, and which destroyed my plans to go into my chosen career.

/Yes I sued them.
//No, I didn't get enough money to compensate for what they did
///I've met a few nice cops, but they are the exception, not the rule
