You do have to wonder with Romney's campaign lately if HE really wants to get elected in the first place...

Does the challenger Mitt Romney simply want the job more than the incumbent President Obama?

He needs to get back the eye of the tiger. He and George W need to homo-erotically dance on the beach.

Because he actually owns a calendar and knows the campaign doesn't really start until the conventions. The general public has other things to care about and once the GOP primaries stopped being interesting, they moved on. They won't start caring again until late Summer. The only people paying attention right now are pols, shills, trolls, and Fark modmins.

Wow, any chance that piece was written by a Republican political strategist, investment banker, and finance attorney who was a communications aide with the McCain-Palin campaign?

Why, yes. Yes, there is. This darling little neocon appears to have written a book entitled, "phoning it in." Note, the style, the flair! Yep, he's got it on speed dial.

It's May. Only a few weeks ago there were serious questions about who the Republicans would nominate. 6 months is a looooooong time in politics.

How hard do you really have to try when you know you have three debates coming up where you will make Romney cry like the little pussy he is?

Why do conservatives spend so much time talking about feelings? This guy talks about Obama's tone, about his enthusiasm, about how his campaign must feel etc.

Are conservatives really so intellectually stunted they can't stick to the issues?

I don't think so. Like many Americans in Obama's economy, Romney is unemployed. So he has lots of free time on his hands. Hoping for a fair and balanced White House, I'll bet the fine folks at Fox News have lent him their Fauxbama guy for debate practice. Because they make a living identifying target audiences for its advertisers, Fox has probably helped Romney identify his target audience. Fox is very good at this. They make a lot of money, probably more than most other commercial-based broadcasters. With a half a year to fine-tune answers and their delivery (point with your thumb, not your finger), Romney will walk into those "debates" call, cool and collected.

What are you talking about? We are about half a year away from the election. We're in that nebulous phase where nothing happens for several months. How do you phone in nothing?

As for TFA, here's some perspective: "Boris Epshteyn [author] is a Republican political strategist, investment banker, and finance attorney currently living in New York City."

May 2011: Obama is having a victory lap about Bin Laden! He's already started the campaign! Why doesn't that piece of shiat actually do his job as President?

May 2012: Obama is sitting on his hands and barely campaigning at all. He doesn't even want to be president!

Right, because if you're not screaming, lying, frothing at the mouth and just plain saying whatever you feel should be true, you're just 'phoning it in.'

The populace is basically the same as Guy Pierce's role in "Memento;" anything said now will be forgotten come November. I think he's just playing 'rope-a-dope.'

From TFA: Boris Epshteyn is a Republican political strategist, investment banker, and finance attorney currently living in New York City. He was a communications aide with the McCain-Palin campaign. He is also a regular guest on MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, Fox News, and radio programs nationwide providing analysis on topics including political strategy, financial markets, international affairs, future elections, and party relations.

I think the real question is "Does Mitt Rmoney really want to be president?"

I think he ran due to peer pressure, and he's the new John Kerry in that he's "anyone but the current" but at least 3% away from getting elected.

So, what will the explanation be when Obama wins?
Bush's tax cuts saved Obama's economy?
Romney wasn't Rommel enough?
Obama send the Black Panthers to steal votes at the poll?

Somebody has to be working on the talking points already.

Gunther: Look forward to half a year of "Obama could TOTALLY still lose this, guys! Please keep watching!".

The media really, really, really wants this to be a close race, so people pay more attention to them. Eventually they're gonna start flat out campaigning for Romney just so he has a chance.

That's been Romney's strategy thus far in the primaries. Problem with that is Obama isn't going to self destruct and Romney will likely be obliterated in a debate. I think Obama is just playing it cool until the debates start up and then he'll put the pedal to the floor.

Boris sounds like a communist name so he obviously is biased towards 0bama and yet he still is critical of him.

If 0bama can't generate excitement among communists and socialists, he is going to have a hard time getting re-elected.
