Elvis_Bogart: Damn you, Stephen Cobert! And here is someone who willingly refuses to pull their head out of the sand and is happier being knowingly ignorant and Republican. |

Damn liberal NPR. How dare they tell the truth? We should de-fund them and send their money to GOP candidates. |

It's a grassroots movement. |

And once again the pro Obama propaganda machine, NPR, reports complete bull excrement and expects people to believe it. Oh that's right; the word "gullible" is no longer in the dictionary! |

| TimonC346 janicetwg: And once again the pro Obama propaganda machine, NPR, reports complete bull excrement and expects people to believe it. Oh that's right; the word "gullible" is no longer in the dictionary! Are you trolling? NPR may be liberal, fine, but it doesn't run op Ed Bullshiat as news like MSNBC or Fox news. Furthermore, I don't care what your political persuasion is, this is very freaky news. |

Not spelled like that it's not. Moran. As an aside, I see nothing wrong with having a government that is representative of the thoughts and views of 100 of it's people. They all have money and must therefore be wealthy so they are obviously better people than the rest of us and would never do anything to hurt this country just to turn another dime. |

[A montage of recent SuperPAC attack ads fill the screen. They quickly replace and overlie each other and the volume swells. Suddenly at the bottom of the screen a man steps out as between two theater curtains and says "Wow, there sure have been a lot of these SuperPAC ads on lately, huh? Have you noticed that most of them are anti-Obama? In fact, more than 80 percent of the money raised by superPACs has gone to pro-GOP groups. But did you know that 80 percent of all the money raised by these groups has come from just 100 individuals? That's right, 100 people have donated an average of $10 million each to make sure Romney is elected. Ten million dollars! And these are all hard-nosed businessmen. Do you think they expect to get something in return for their investment? I expect they do. And you won't know what their reward is until Romney is in office. "Look, we don't have the money to compete with these guys. We scraped together the money for this ad and we'll run it as much as we can but it will soon be drowned out by the Republican noise machine, but ask yourself--you know what the Democrats want to do for this country, because we've told you, in no uncertain terms. Do you really know what the Republicans plan beyond some vague promises? Do you want to put the country in the hands of the people who paid for these ads?"] |

The wealthy rigging society for selfish reasons is not surprising. The surprise is how America's rubes will absorb and promote the propaganda created by the wealthy ruling class. "I tell ya, these damn unions are sending 'Merica down the drain." They're the idiot peasant from the days of yore prostrating themselves before the king. |

Subby, you have a choice: you can ignore what those PACs are saying. On the other hand, I'm guessing you're not terribly concerned about how many votes are bought for real by Democrats in places like Chicago. |

C'mon now, these are just people 'making a difference' and 'standing up for what they believe in'. |

Why do you hate free speech? It's just that some of us a speechier than others. Louder voices if you will. |

So they will outspend Dems 80 to 20 this election. But Obama is still going to make Romney his biatch. |

Notabunny: James F. Campbell: Sarcasm will not solve the problem. Freedom of speech is not a problem, my friend Money is property, not speech. Of course, the corporate whores on the Supreme Court would disagree, consequences to society be damned. It'll all work out okay because it's based on the Constitution. |
||
| Notabunny hinten: Why do you hate free speech? It's just that some of us a speechier than others. Louder voices if you will. Our absolutely neutral and positively non-activist Supreme Court has told us money is speech. And the more money you have, the more speech you have. |

| Notabunny You know what would be fun? A law banning all political adds until 1 month before the election. The could have all the free speech they want, it's just that some of it would be at 3:00am competing with Sham Wow! for air time. |

janicetwg: And once again the pro Obama propaganda machine, NPR, reports complete bull excrement and expects people to believe it. ftfa: "80 percent of all the money raised by these groups has come from just 100 individuals" of course since all the money raised is from anonymous sources, that estimate is 100% reliable. (I am being sarcastic. It is just a total guess). According to other people, 90% of the money raised was from donations that were smaller than $50. Look at the Colbert superpac as an example of that! (see how easy it is to guess where the money is coming from). |

| TheGreatGazoo Could it be that we just have the republicans having a primary? Versus Obama who can just sit back and watch the show (though in West Virginia he just about lost)? |

Oligarchy (from Greek ὀλιγαρχία (oligarkhía); from ὀλίγος (olígos), meaning "a few", and ἄρχω (archo), meaning "to rule or to command")[1][2][3] is a form of power structure in which power effectively rests with a small number of people. These people could be distinguished by royalty, wealth, family ties, education, corporate, or military control. Such states are often controlled by a few prominent families who pass their influence from one generation to the next. This is what is ACTUALLY going on here. Stop worrying about your stupid perceived threat of socialism. |
