AverageAmericanGuy: Couldn't be bothered to rhyme "John"? Yeah, wtf, Subs? Let's improve... Come listen to a story about a man named John, A poor farmer boy, whose corn crop had gone. Had no dollars for new seed for food, But up from the ground came a bubblin' crude. Oil that is, black gold, Kansas tea. Saved his ass. |

Felgraf: They banded together to force the oil companies to pay more for a good or serivce? That sounds like UNIONISTIC SOCIALISM. . . More like greedy god damn one percenters! The greedy farmers our gouging the masses! Fark them, fark them all. Perhaps Obama can seize their land for the greater good, like he did with GM. Seize it from the greedy Americans and sell everything to the French. |

jpo2269: Who wants to join me in forming an "Occupy Topeka" protest group? No thank you. I'll just stay down here in Florida. Beach + holiday weekend = LOTS of bikinis. However, I do hope that you have a good time (sap) - I know I am. |

It's like the oil companies think they might get to produce some oil in the near future. |
||
| SVenus
Most of the targets in Kansas they're talking about are profitable only when they're fracked. |

What's the first thing you know? /C'mon Farkers, don't disappoint me. |

This would be a great idea for a TV series. I can see it now. The farmer gets rich and moves to Wichita. Then the fun starts! |

hooray for fracking and oil companies! i guess with all that extra money the farmers have now, they'll be able to pay to have drinking water shipped in once their aquifers are ruined. |

More fracking? Am I the only one that get's nervous when we start weakening the earth's crust on a continent with an active super-volcano? |
||
| snocone Yup, we should take the last of the good farmland and frack it. Hope they hurry with that bacterium that eats oil. |

I'm calling shenanigans. There no way they are drilling for oil in Kansas because the Right-Wing keeps telling me that Obama isn't letting anybody drill for oil because he's trying to send gas prices up to $10 a gallon in order to get re-elected. |

They'll need the 'extra' money because their farms will be useless once the fracking compounds ruin the water supply. It's been interesting to see how this has been spun and promoted starting just a few weeks ago. "Free money with new* technology and landowners can HIT THE JACKPOT!" I really am curious which PR firm is coordinating this. * frack frack frackety frack |

Do you really need to be a Right-WInger to understand the difference between oil production on private and state owned land versus Federal land? Oil production on Federal land is down significantly. Oil production on privately owned land and state land is up significantly. Which type of land do you think the President has the most control over? |
