Probably a glitch in the matrix similar to the one we had last week with the 2 comment boxes showing up in some of the redlit threads. |

| doglover NutWrench: Authorities don't know the details, but it probably happened when a group of idiots decided to fark around with a GIANT WHIRLPOOL! I've been there. The thing is HUGE. Easily 200 feet around and it looks like 125 feet deep. Not something you'd fark with willingly. |
||
| OtherLittleGuy
Did they try backtracking to Pittsburgh, Miami, New Orleans, and Dallas? |
||
| MaudlinMutantMollusk It would really be ironic if he were a Maytag repairman |
||
| doglover Sorry, meant 200 yards. |
||
| optikeye I've seen it...all that river close to the falls looked like instant death to me, the water is very fast moving. Why someone would willingly jump in to swim is astounding. |

[www.richard-seaman.com image 640x460] Niagra is special because the river is super deep. There's big rapids, but they're not made from rocks, but from jets of water coming off the rocks. If you've got the buoyancy, you can have a fun little trip. There's a jet boat ride and they slap life vests on you. I imagine that's enough. With no rocks to catch your feet, fast water isn't any more dangerous than slow. |

We're just drowning in bad headlines today. Someone needs to throw subby a lifesaver because at this point he's just fishing for a laugh with that watery headline. |

I'm going to assume alcohol was involved? I've been at that river, I've seen the whirlpools and that's something a normal sober person couldn't even be paid to swim in or even take one step in. As a previous poster said, it's instant death. |

That thing routinely sucks down 150 ft fallen trees, grinds them up on the rocky bottom, and spits out nothing but wood chips. I don't think they're recovering the body. |

Hey, isn't that-- It's our good friend, Roy boy. Jump! No, no! He's wearing my good hat! Let's help him out. Great. Don't jump, Roy boy, don't jump! Help is on the way! |

Unlike other whirlpools, Niagara Whirlpool never loses suction. |

Niagara Falls? Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch. I walked up to him, I smashed him like this, I hit him, I bopped him, I tore him to pieces, and then I knocked him down! Dumbass |

Sounds like a good plan for an insurance scam. No need to worry about your plane landing intact just offshore instead of 100 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico. |

That is the secret entrance to the judicial league hall tunnel disrobement gang club house cave fortress encampment hideout. No one ever thinks to look there. |

AbbeySomeone: Booze and BBQ? 22 isn't the brightest of ages. I think booze and BBQ go together just fine. Again, the booze might not pair so well with the GIANT WHIRLPOOL.... /and that's why I always stay inside my cozy hobbit hole, with my cozy TV and my cozy Fark. Losers.... |

I wonder which magical world he lives in now? Rick Marshall, Will and Holly are a father and his two kids who get sucked into a whirlpool while out rafting. The whirlpool acts as a time portal and they end up in a primitive world populated by dinosaurs and cavemen.... ![]() Science teacher John Butler, and his wife, Kim, daughter Katie and son Greg, find themselves lost in the Valley of the Dinosaurs, when their raft is sucked down into a whirlpool.... |
