Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of drinking, nor the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of slurred speech, or of the hard press; or the right of the Autobots peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for the undress of bridesmaids. |

Add the 14th Amendment again, with the exact same text. Take the original copy and ram it up Scalia's rectum. He can either learn to read it properly or die from anal bleeding. |

I'm going to have my own constitution, with legalized blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the constitution. |

| bluorangefyre Clearly define that the Congress, and SOLELY the Congress, upon a 2/3rds majority of both chambers after Presidential request, may authorize the activation and use of the military in a foreign conflict UNLESS there is an imminent, massive, catastrophic attack upon U.S. soil by a foreign agressor. No more than one division from each branch of the military, on a rotating basis, can be used by the United Nations as part of a peacekeeping force if needed. |

| archichris Ed Willy: Franklin Roosevelt's Second Bill Of Rights Employment, with a living wage Freedom from unfair competition and monopolies Housing Medical care Education Social security Wiki article and video of Roosevelt speech here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_B ill_of_Rights#.E2.80.9CThe_Econo m ic_Bill_of_Rights.E2.80.9D Its the help townsville and make it a better place plan.......now we just need to build Roosevelt a volcano headquarters full of mutant monkeys. Seriously that would be as bad as being born and getting your dna registered with your share of the national debt, then paying it off with every hour you work in your entire life. The Government would own you, forget about any sort of choice in your health or education, youre just checking boxes on a bureaucrats list in the Roosevelt world. We already spend over $500k on social programs every single time a child is born in this country......based on 4 million live births and a total domestic social spending estimated at 2.2 Trillion dollars from government internet sources. The number is not correllated.....IE the child in question is not the reason for the spending, but the ratio exists. Every American is born $500k in debt to the social welfare system. It is literally enough money to make every single child born in this country till the end of time a trust fund millionaire by the time they are 24 years old after using earned interest to pay for everything on that Roosevelt list that applies to the individual....healthcare, education, housing, nutrition. But because our system was designed by slave masters like Roosevelt who believe the Government should be the ultimate authority on life in America, we manage to spend that $500k per kid and keep 50% of our nation on some form of welfare, and 25% trapped in a never ending cycle of barely getting by on a check every month. Its a farking tragedy what the Lefts obsession with social spending has done not only to america but to the world by hobbling the greatest economic engine since the Roman empire. We have spent enough money in the last 60 years to transform the entire planet into resource exploitation and manufacturing nations. Assuming the money could have been invested in the appropriate markets for those forms of expansion. But instead we have invested it in an absurd notion that equality can only be guaranteed by a government, not basic goodwill. The sad fact is that the competition for resources is what drives monopolies and inequality around the world. Americas economic battery has been laden with too many current sucking programs and regulations....and it is almost out of juice. My vote for new constitutional text would be something along the lines of "the entirety of the law that governs a free man shall be no longer in printed words nor more complex than the average graduate of the public education system can read, understand, and navigate without the need for legal representation." Cut the bureaucrats and legislators off at the knees or they will make you a slave to laws and regulations. |

I'm pretty much good with it just the way it is. What i would like to revise is the governments compliance with it. |

Tax code written in 20 words or less. That includes all taxes. |
||
| fusillade762 GAT_00: Toss the Senate With ya on that one. One man (person), one vote. abb3w: Proposed revision to Article III: 1) The number of voting Justices of the Supreme Court to be set at nine 2) The title of Chief Justice, after the departure of the current holder, to pass to the senior-most appointed Justice 3) That (in light of Jefferson's observation) after a period of 25 years, or on voluntary submission to the court, a justice shall be given emeritus status; retaining the salary, and being able to present arguments as amicus curia, and all privileges of court justices saving only not being able to vote on the outcome cases. This retains the attempted insulation of the judiciary from politics, while setting limits that might reduce some of the ossification of attitudes. Also this. Lifetime appointments for SCOTUS has turned out to be a really bad idea. |

The government shall have the power to enact laws which reduce or eliminate the rights of the citizens after a period of four years in which the harshest aspects of those laws have continually been applied to the Congress and the President. |

1 The whole damn country public property is a "free speech zone" no restrictions on political expressive speech, period. 2nd: all weapons legal, anything outside of small arms you need a permit and only one per person RPGs, Tanks, Jets, etc. Additions: Corporations are and may never be viewed as people. if you cant punish it like a person you cant give it the rights of one. To be considered an American company you must follow the policy laws of the US even abroad. ie, worker rights violations/ pollution, in south america may appeal to US for justice if it's an american company. must also follow laws of residing country (obviously) |

Arizona is to be summarily thrown out of the United States, and anyone who chooses the US over Arizona must have an IQ of at least 100. If that requirement is not meant, than that person will not be allowed into the US |

| DrPainMD doyner: As corporations are people, any crime committed by a corporation shall be adjudicated as a conspiracy of all individual members and owners thereof; each to serve the personal punishment of any such violation of law and carry the subsequent record and abrogations of rights prescribed by law to any similarly convicted private citizen. So, if someone in a blue-chip company commits a crime, everybody with a 401(k) goes to prison? Great idea. |

GAT_00: Preamble: fine, but this time we mean the 'public welfare' part. Article 1: Amend: all members of Congress must pass a citizenship test before they may be elected. This must be repeated every election. Toss the Senate, it's anachronistic. A representative may not represent more than 250,000 constituents. Wording to eliminate gerrymandering of districts. Article 2: Fine Article 3: Any judge may not serve a position for more than 6 years. In other words, if you serve 6 years on the 6th Circuit, you may not ever serve on the 6th Circuit again. You may not serve more than two terms at any 'level' of the judicial system - only 12 years total on the Circuit courts. Whatever it is that sovereign citizens use for their nuttery? Don't include that. Amendments: 1. OK as is, but specifically state that NO religious imagery may be used in any State or Federal agency. 2. Anachronistic. It would probably have to be very long, but basically you have no legitimate reason to need anything more than pistols or rifles. 3. Fine 4. Put the power back. Any evidence not covered by the warrant may not be used. If no crime is charged, evidence must be returned within 48 hours. If found not guilty, all evidence must be returned. 5. Don't touch it. 6. Define speedy trial. I'd like to include here that for false accusations, the accuser must spend the maximum possible sentence the accused could have gotten. 7. Trial by jury required for nearly all cases. Ban the plea bargain. 8. Death penalty is a cruel and unusual punishment. 9. Fine 10. Toss 12. Completely toss. Death to the EC. Good enough for now. Ban the plea bargain? No way. The legal system is utterly amoral and doesnt care about reality at all. The plea bargain is a protection from turning good innocent people into criminals. IN fact i would make it a requirement that juries be informed of jury nullification so that they can easily decide to not enforce corrupt laws. |

GAT_00: Article 1: Amend: all members of Congress must pass a citizenship test before they may be elected. This must be repeated every election. Toss the Senate, it's anachronistic. A representative may not represent more than 250,000 constituents. Wording to eliminate gerrymandering of districts. As the current population of the U.S. is 311,591,917, that adds up to 1,246 representatives. New York City alone would have 32 representatives. Hooray for 'small government' Conservatism! |

Oh oh, NO FEDERAL BANKS |
||
| archichris vygramul: Fair elections, being necessary to the freedom of the state, the right of the corporations to spend freely may be infringed. Seriously, though: Section 1. Political speech rights of the people of the United States shall not be construed to extend to the expenditure or contribution of monies by any corporation, limited liability company, or any other corporate entity. Section 2. Nothing contained in this Article shall be construed to abridge the freedom of the press. Section 3. Congress shall have the power to enforce this article with appropriate legislation. The only thing that will accomplish is making corporations similar to unions in how they exercise political speech. A small amount of shares can be distributed to employees and then the shareholders can vote in the most popular political speech for the entire corporation. Individual shareholders are still free to exercise individual votes and speech, but the corporation/union as a whole speaks with one voice. You can try to shut that down, but its just a group of people like any other interest group, expressing their concerns about a range of issues. The constitution protects their right to assemble and have their voices heard as a group about a particular issue. Obviously individuals in the group may disagree on a range of other issues, but the group as a whole can exercise free political speech on a topic after voting their shares to support it. But I think we both know you will still try to silence them because you believe it is just and fair that one man shall, under penalty of police persecution and seizure of his goods and treasure, be forced to support another man financially through taxation to provide basic social needs. Your plan for enslaving people is a bit more slippery than just putting a collar on them, but in the end it amounts to the same thing. One man works or is punished, and another man benefits from the governments protection. |

| bluorangefyre Another one that definitely needs addressing: Marriage may be defined by two categories: 1) a 'Traditional marriage' between two people of opposite genders 2) a 'Non-traditional marriage' between two people of the same gender Here's another: The budget of the country must be in balance between revenues and expenditures on a yearly basis. Tax rates can be adjusted in either direction beginning with the top 5% of incomes if an increase is found to be necessary, and beginning with the lower 95% of incomes if a decrease is found to be necessary. In the event that broader revenue increases or decreases are needed, then the increases will expand upwards to no more than the top 15% of incomes, and the decreases will expand to no more than the lower 99% of incomes. The top 1% shall have taxes reset to their previous levels no more than two years after a decrease has occured |

I'm not sure I want to go that far, but consider this one -- For especially bad corporate crimes, have a corporate death penalty: forced liquidation. |

Corporations are not people and no rights are afforded them. Laws regulating them will be handled as any other law. All elections will be funded by the government. Use of personal funds for elections will be a federal crime. |
||
| archichris feckingmorons: Benevolent Misanthrope: No discriminating against anyone, for any reason, Ever. So registered sex offenders should open baby sitting services? I'm OK with your premise, but I think it has to be a bit more defined. He makes a universal point, but really he is a single issue voter. He is anti religion, along with a massive 10% of the population. He cant think beyond his basic premise that he should be allowed to benefit from everything religion does without having to live by any of its strictures. I dont want any particular religion running things, obviously they would fark it up. But putting atheists in charge by effectively making it illegal to do anything but stamp out the impact of religion on governance.....is moronic. Religion is a personal choice and an issue of freedom. You have to let people believe what they want to believe and they have a right to speak about it. If you dont want to listen you have a right to tell them that. If they push it.....thats what disturbing the peace laws are for. At the core of the argument is the notion that it is ok to be prejudiced against religious people. No form of prejudice is acceptable which is based not on a persons conduct, but rather upon their associations, whether natural or social. IE, yes you can keep a child molester out of a school because their actions have pre-judged them. But you cannot keep a catholic out of a public school teaching job just because they tell people they are catholic and believe in a god they believe is the one true god. |
||
| bluorangefyre I forgot one to the balanced budget idea I had: Corporations may not be exempt to any portion of the tax code if they earn roughly more than 0.25% of the national GDP in any given quarter, and may not utilize charitable donations to lower their tax liability. All offshore accounts of any corporation doing business within the United States may also be taxed. And to amend the high earning folk of the idea, their offshore accounts may be taxed if they are a United States citizen. |

Type_Hard: I'm curious if anyone has thought through a list of things that they think should not fall under the umbrella of states rights. The definition of marriage immediately comes to my mind. Seems bizarre to me that something so basic should be left to vary from state to state, especially in a world where I can be on the other side of the country in a matter of hours. Maybe I'm wrong here, and I think localized control makes sense in most issues, but this seems like something that shouldn't be left to local control. Thoughts, flames, etc...? Congress can already legalize gay marriage via the Full Faith and Credit clause. Sure, Georgia can ban the act, but if they're required to recognize any marriage license Massachusetts, including those issued to a gay couple, then it's a victory in the grand scheme of things. Of course Congress went the other direction with the DOMA. |

1. Term limits. 2. Term limits. 3. Balanced federal budget except in the event of a declared war by congress. 4. | Ishkur archichris: But putting atheists in charge by effectively making it illegal to do anything but stamp out the impact of religion on governance.....is moronic. All offshore accounts of any corporation doing business within the United States may also be taxed. And to amend the high earning folk of the idea, their offshore accounts may be taxed if they are a United States citizen. you forgot the most obvious one......stop printing money and pouring it into the ocean. And it might help if you actually taxed something once, instead of multiple times at different portions of a transaction. The Dollar in dividends that I am paid by my local utility has been taxed so many times at so many levels on its journey to me that its purchasing power is almost nill. I dont care which one you pick flat tax, sales tax, wealth transfer tax, just pick one. |

Immediate term limits of 6 terms House, 2 terms Senate. No jobs for Congresspeople in any area related to their service for five years after they leave. Strong election finance laws. That alone should fix a lot of problems. |

Atheists have never been in charge. The United States will have a first woman, gay, jew, latino, chinese, native indian, east indian and pothead President before it ever has a first openly atheist President. the person I commented on is suggesting a system in which it is illegal to state any preference for religion in any publicly funded forum, effectively making it impossible for a religious person to exercise free speech while working for the government. He advocates in essence for a system in which only atheists can speak freely. |
