No cameras means no footage for Obama's commercials this October. |

A Romney adviser said the campaign had concealed the event location for fear the Obama administration would somehow prevent them from staging it. Romney's inability to tell the truth took an early lead in the contest to determine his greatest failure, but tendency to associate with and hire crazy people is making a strong showing in the later rounds. |

Nobody liked drunk, paranoid, End of Days Nixon, wandering the East Wing hallways muttering about enemies and Jews. Except the Jews he employed, for some reason. |

The debates are going to be hilarious. Especially if Romney doesn't show up because he's worried Obama won't let him talk. |

apoptotic: The debates are going to be hilarious. Especially if Romney doesn't show up because he's worried Obama won't let him talk. I think he's going to show up, tackle the first person he suspects of being gay then cut his hair off. It's the only thing conservatives respect him for. |

Oh, the desperation, the sweet, sweet desperation of the Obama campaign and its flacks... The event was supposed to have been a secret. The campaign did not announce Mr. Axelrod's appearance in Mr. Romney's hometown until early Thursday morning, although word of it leaked out on Twitter late Wednesday. So, we have another case of campaign hypocrisy: when Romney tries to keep an election event a secret it's "paranoid" and "Nixonian." When Obama tries (and fails) to do the exact same thing, it's "shame on Romney." For the folks playing at home, that's what we like to call "being a hypocrite." No, what really drives the left mad is that Romney is playing at their typical games and winning at it. They expected Romney to be as milquetoast as McCain was and try to stay "above the fray" while the Obama campaign pummeled them. Instead, Romney's learned the right lessons and is fighting back. And that drives the left crazy. It's going to be a fun five months... |

I just pictured that scenario with Anderson Cooper as the moderator and the thought of the ensuing melee sent me into a fit of giggles. |

FTFA: The Thursday visit was kept a tight secret by the Romney campaign, which told reporters they needed to travel in a campaign bus to an undisclosed location. Huh? How long before reporters are stripped of their cell phones, blindfolded and forced to sign a loyalty oaths if they want to cover Mitt's campaign events? |

WombatControl: No, what really drives the left mad is that Romney is playing at their typical games and winning at it. You and I must have differing definitions of "winning". |

Reporters don't sign a loyalty oath but they are very careful to not ask the hard questions so they can keep access. |

It shows that Romney would be a better president since Obama's people can't even keep a simple press conference secret. |

Yeah, just like the three times he used his teleprompter in 2008, and at the Republican Retreat. |

| Angry Drunk Bureaucrat Professor Duck: Damn, is Friday the official "Ride Out the Derp" day on Fark now? I dunno. I think Drew has figured out that the majority of folks on the site are moderate-to-left leaning and that inflammatory right-wing links & headlines are more likely to generate page views, more interesting (or at least entertaining) discussion threads, and more comments. Put it another way: The admins are tossing cake into the middle of a Weight Watchers meeting, and enjoying the ensuing fracas. Those sick bastards. |
