Actually, it'll be a Republican gift to Obama.

There's nothing like a partisan witch-hunt against a charismatic Democratic President that keeps reminding people that lots of terrorists are getting killed and Iran is getting whipped by that President. These leaks have been about things that make Obama look good on a visceral level.

I'm shocked the GOP hasn't had one already for Fartbongo. In the 90s they
seemed to regard the Office of the Special Counsel as the fourth branch of
government.

Yeah, that was inevitable. Gotta try to skew the election somehow, and we all know the GOP isn't a fan of actual democracy.

Has anyone ever gone after any President on so much nonsensical bullshiat as what Obama had to endure? At least Clinton did really get a blowjob, that witch hunt was bad enough. Bush's invasion of a country under false pretense directly benefited his Vice President financially and it wasn't given as much scrutiny as what type of paper clip Obama used in some report. WTF is wrong with you people?

Like the overwhelming majority of American citizens, I long for the day this summer when Fartdingo is frogmarched out of the White House in chains, and Sarah Palin is sworn in as our new President. Saul Alinsky. The day B. Hussein is put on trial for Crimes Against Humanity - what a glorious day that shall be.

No, Joseph Biden is the VP and he would be the one sworn is as our new President. You may want to brush up on your knowledge of how the US Government works.

Besides that, you are wrong, most Americans wouldn't want that. Many would just want him to not be re-elected.

At this point, I don't care. The GOP has been screaming batshiat nonsense at me since 2009 and even if, by some miracle, they found a legitimate issue, I wouldn't believe them simply because of who found it. I'm so tired of the vitriol and rhetoric, I have no desire to see if there actually is signal in the noise any longer, given there hasn't been for years.

He's a Democrat whose family actually lives up to the values espoused by conservative Republicans: Loving husband, loving wife, amazing children who stay out of trouble, no hint of infidelity or bitterness, active lifestyle, continues to try and be healthier and more involved with each other, Christian, patriotic as all hell, embodies the American dream - rising up through hardship after hardship, never giving up, and succeeding professionally and personally.

They can't f*cking stand him because they can't find anyone on their side of the aisle who could be half of that. That he's a colored person just embarrasses them even more and makes them more enraged.

A great deal of effort was put forth in order for the "Impeach Obama" bumper stickers to begin appearing even before the inauguration. It would be a shame if all of that effort was wasted. As far as who should be appointed as Special Prosecutor to head up the investigation, I suggest Weed Bonerhitler.

This is all that needs to be said about Bush 43's presidency. It's not up for debate, it's a matter of historical record. I'm willing to look past "My Pet Goat." In fact, I'm willing to look past everything except voluntarily starting an unnecessary war. $1T down the shiatter, 4500 dead, 33,000 wounded American soldiers. Immagine how great it we would be doing if the GOP spent all of their energy hating the president, being obstructionists, and legislating penises/vaginas was spent coming up with better policies. Who am I farking kidding, lets hang Obama from a tree on the White House lawn because he passed legislation that he campaigned on and even comprimised with us on serveral of the key issues we now pretend to be upset about.

Bzzt. "The dems" weren't the ones beating the war drums. Bush could have single-handedly stopped us from invading Iraq, but since it was kind of his baby there was no way he was going to do that.

There's no single legislator of either party that had that same kind of influence.

I am trying to keep track of where we are with this. Is this now the story that Bush is a brilliant politician who was able to convince and fool all those democrats who not only voted for the war, but continually voted for the funding?

and he was able to do that even though those dems hated him so much and thought he wasn't a legitimate President (selected, not elected)

He proved to everyone that he could do something his daddy couldn't and got Saddam. After his Presidency, I look back and no longer believe Bush 43 is as evil and self-serving as I thought he was (his administration... yeah, still evil). I realize Bush was a not-so-bright man, who, in way over his head already, felt he had the power to finally step out of his father's shadow and maybe have a shot at being Daddy's favorite, even if just for a little while.

When a stripper has daddy issues, the lap dances are better. When a President has daddy issues, people die.

Look, you can't go to the Federal courts and claim that Americans can't sue to stop their children from being killed by America's drone program (because you claim that even acknowledging the program existence would harm national security) and then go on national television and brag about how cool this same program makes you.

You can't engage in an unprecedented series of attacks on American whistle-blowers (who you campaigned on protecting) while your own administration leaks classified information for political gain like a sieve.

None of these concepts are difficult.

Bradley Manning has endured treatment that the UN has investigated and declared amounts to torture (even before having a trial!) for leaking information with a lower security clearance.

Correct. Bush was the only person with the authority to order the invasion, and he's the one who did it. He was the commander in chief, and he used that position to start an unnecessary conflict. (I don't call it a "war" because legally only Congress has the power to declare war and they never did.)

It's interesting how the neocon party line has gone from "Let's go ahead and start the war; Saddam's got WMD, could be the next Hitler; Bush is a wartime president and an genuine hero; it's our patriotic duty to shut up and back the troops" to "Oh, no, it was our political opponents who started that war."

So we're in agreement at least that the Iraq conflict was a complete clusterfark where we wasted $1T and 4500 of our best and brightest, and we'd have been better off not starting that war after all.
