That's funny considering Poland is thought of as the Africa of the EU. According to everyone I know in Ireland anyways.. and England.. AND France.

Krakow is lovely by the way (if you're white). One of my top picks in the world for a visit.. Sit in Market Square and sip vodka lemons and watch the countless hotties walking by. Of all of the places I've been (40+ countries) Krakow has the hottest women by a pretty good margin.

There are a lot of racists in Eastern Europe, and football hooliganism attracts many of them. Rick Romero with the report live from Poland at 11.

FTFA "England are based in Krakow, along with the Netherlands and Italy squads, and will allow the public to watch Friday's practice session at Hutnik stadium on the outskirts of the city."

As someone who has been there, I don't think they have thought their cunning plan all the way through. I don't think they will get any less racist comments.

Some people allegedly made some monkey noises at some soccer team's practice.
This is clearly a sign of the growing racist threat to all of Europe.

Meanwhile, two teenagers in Asshole, Indiana spray painted "666" on the church steps, a clear sign of the growing Satanic threat this country is facing. News at ten...

And of course, Michel Platini has said that any player who walks off if he's racially abused will be booked, while at the same time allowing refs to halt games if there's any racial abuse.

and that's why i can't wait for world cup 2018. welcome to russia. a nation so delightful they lock the foreign students in their dorms under guard for their own protection on some national holidays. no seriously, that's the progressive nation that purchased with petrol-dollars was rewarded the world cup.

/of course 2018 will be a delight compared to the shiatshow that will be 2022

Maybe it's not a surprise to others. But I would assume there's very few places in the world that know, so intimately, what it's like to hate on people for their race or creed and the dangers associated with it...

Guess they didn't really learn their lesson after all.

While I find racism and bigotry grotesque no matter where it originates, there is just something really pitiful about Polish bigots. Misplaced defensive pride or what, it is sad. And hilarious (in the abstract).

Should put an end to all the Europe canonization in the politics tab, but it won't.

Seriously, we're going to have to stop getting cute with where we have these international events. A lot of the world just isn't ready for the responsibility, unfortunately.

South Africa did a pretty good job, but why force athletes and customers to deal with so much BS like this?

If you can't at least temporarily get crime under control, discrimination under control, or if you're a theocracy, guess what? You don't get the economic benefits of international events. It's that simple.

You then are aware of how embarrassed the Dutch were by their national team's performance in that final.

/historical Dutch may be the closest to modern Americans in character & spirit

That's what I thought. Or maybe they're taunting Obama because they want him to make an official visit to give an apology, upon such time the Polish Nationalish will personally throw bananas at him.

Unfortunately the article doesn't answer the question, "How many Polish does it take to yell a racist chant?"

Central and Eastern Europeans employ the Nebraska argument. Less than 5% of the population is not white and (insert country here), so it's used as an excuse.

That said, this is pretty farked up. I've read numerous articles by Polish guys striking back at the Panorama special
