This is one of those instances where the "Obvious" tag is hilariously understated.

Considering the 2009 figures show that 62% of illegals come from Mexico it would just make sense that some would misconstrue a position against illegal immigrants with being against Hispanics.

FTA: I think that members of our party have spoken about this in a way that's not only anti-immigration but anti-Hispanic, and I think that's harmful to the long term future of the party.

So Gonzales finally noticed that the GOP is racist?? Better late than never.

How DARE people say it's the Republicans that pander to conservatives that are against non-whites and non-English-speaking people! It's an affront to...

Poor Fredo. He was truly thrown under a bus after Bush left office. Everyone else got plum jobs and speaking engagements, and Gonzales is, what? Digging in dumpsters for tin cans in Eagle Pass? All those years of simple, touching loyalty to his boss, and it was thrown away like an empty Twix wrapper.

Thinly-veiled racist rhetoric = bad
Waterboarding = good

Thanks for the analysis, Alberto. Why aren't you in prison again?

Does that sign in the background say "Texas is not a Mexican colony?"

Do these stupid motherfarkers even know where Texas came from?

I seem to remember Fredo saying something while in office about how someone should have gotten off for some charges simply because the person in question was Hispanic.

Need to look that one up.

I remember people calling him a traitor, anti-American, and a host of other wonderful things, that is until it surfaced that he was a decorated Iraq veteran. Then the spin got weird.

I always get a kick out of this "give amnesty to illegals so Hispanics will vote for you"....and a bigger kick when people actually believe and support this

Because, when you say this, you pretty much are claiming that all Hispanics are illegals....which is not true of course.

Why tick off 70% of voters (those who support enforcement against illegals) to please 10-15% of the population (Hispanics). You do not win elections that way

When you're talking about actually enforcing immigration laws and the overwhelming majority of the people breaking those laws are Hispanic, this will happen.

Build a bridge and get over it, back to Mexico that is, and you're more than welcome to get in line and come here legally.

"But... but... do you know how HARD it is to come here legally...?"

No, and I don't care either. If you want to talk about reforming the laws then that's fine, but the fact that you don't like the way the law is set up is not an excuse to break it, ignore it, or not enforce it.
