| markie_farkie +1 subby.. I double-clutched over in laughter. |
||
| WTF Indeed
Or as it's known to the stressed-out students in Harvard Square, retiring /+1 |
||
| Nogrhi This is indeed sad. It is also a fine headline. +1 Sub(uru) |
||
| NuttierThanEver Other than the missing Our Fair City between Cambridge and MA that headline was perfect subby. This headline brought to you by our Russian headline writer Ivana Greenlightova |
||
| WTF Indeed
Subby, if you're a TFer take a bow. |
||
| Nogrhi This headline didn't get the green?? Can we scrape together enough cash to have Dewey, Cheatham & Howe appeal the decision? |
||
| gilgigamesh From the redlit thread: English is not my wife's first language, and with those Bahstin accents, she can't understand a word they say. So to her, it sounds like nonsensical babbling frequently interspersed with insane laughter. Her imitation of them is hysterical. I know this news will make her said, and I'm not even sure she knows it's a show about car advice. |
||
| Dogberry I just hope their staff lands on their feet. I lost a greenlight over this, but I acknowledge the superiority of your headline, Subby. |

"Because even though Drew Curtis swears off Heinken when he hears us say it..." / has a sad |

| PsyLord This is sad news indeed. How is is the law firm of Dewey, Cheetum, and Howe going to survive after losing such a huge client? |

Well, that will put a hole in Saturday mornings. :-( "Don't drive like my brother!" "And don't drive like my brother!" |

NPR is still going to broadcast old episodes in the same time slot, so at least you'll still be able to get your fix, and with 25 years of shows to pull from, I'm pretty sure you'll usually be hearing something you haven't heard before. I like them too. But they're in their 70s. Can't blame them for wanting to retire. Thanks, Click and Clack, and don't drive like my brother. (Really. My brother can literally make people ill with his driving.) |

Best program on the radio. It will be missed. |

Oh no, what will I do without my weekly dose of HA HA HYUK HYUK!!! HAHAAA HO HO HO!!! HAAAA HAAAA HAAAA!! I used to like the content but the grating laughter was just too much to take after a while, so I haven't listened in years. |

NPR needs to take a page from PBS and start importing BBC shows. Back to back Just a Minute and The Unbelievable Truth would be a great hour long block on a Saturday morning. Now that they have a gaping hole in their schedule, filled in only by reruns, this is the perfect opportunity. /I'll always remember helping my dad out in the garage when I was a kid while these guys were on the radio. Tanks for the mammaries, guys. |
||
| ilikestuff
How dare they age. I demand to be entertained. |

What a bittersweet headline to read. The best thing about driving to the shooting range on Saturday morning was listening to "Car Talk" on the way out, and "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" on the way back. I, and my yet-to-be-born son, will miss Tom and Ray. Thanks for the...well...everything! |

Heard this on Morning Edition this morning. Very sad indeed. Those guys have entertained me in my travels for all of those 25 years. Can't believe it's been that long. Sure they feel the same way. Take care funny men and thank you. |

NOOOOOOO! :( Sasquach: What the heck am I going to listen to on long trips/flights?!? Wait Wait Don't Tell Me I listen to it on the plane often. Once the guy next to me asked what I was cracking up at. When I told him, the guy on the other side of him grinned and gave me a thumbs up. |

All good things must come to an end. And Tom and Ray Magliozzi are definitely a good thing. Thanks for all the laughs and good information, gentlemen. You were enjoyed. |

One of the many reasons I give to NPR. Thanks for years of entertainment, guys. |

Dogberry: I just hope their staff lands on their feet. I'm just sad to know that my suggestion for a staffer will never make it to the air" "Our Leisurely Repentance Counselor: Marion Haste." They're part of the soundtrack to my life. I don't know what I'll do with my ears while doing house/yard work on Saturdays anymore. Godspeed, guys. |

NuttierThanEver: That means they can expand Michael Feldmans unfunny piece of crap Whadya know show to three whole hours I'm Glad to know I'm not the only person who totally does not get that show's appeal. It feels like what WWDTM would be if it had no charisma or panelists. Gonna miss Click and Clack, but given that I started listening 5 years ago, there's a good 20 years of cartalk reruns i'll have to catch up on. |
||
| gunther_bumpass
They're not my favorite, and I get a little irritated that they take about 3 calls during the course of the show, (two of which are from some twits arguing with their spouse over glove compartment space), but anything that isn't Garrison farking Keillor is ok with me. Listening to that maudlin, pug-faced, unfunny, loudly-inhaling bastard is only slightly less boring than eating a cardboard and dust sandwich. Fark that guy and the stupid-ass socks he sleazed into town in. |
