Had you RTFA, you would have noticed that he did not have a taser issued, only pepper spray.

This is why sticks should be outlawed. There's no good reason for someone to need a stick, unless they are in the military or building traps.

Had you RTFA, you'd know that he was not issued a taser. Not all cops carry them, and not every department even uses them.

Okay, really, what ever happened to "putting one in the leg" in the case of a man armed with a farking stick? Was the cop that incompetent with his firearm that he couldn't have hit the man's leg at close range like that? According to TFA, the cop had mace... why wasn't that in hand instead of his sidearm; why was the sidearm the first thing he went for when confronting a guy with a stick?

Christ, even our most deadly warriors get "does he deserve a bullet" training: where is some of that for our ever-more-militant police force?

Killing a guy for waving a stick in a threatening manner... what a farking coward. I hope he's done in the police and spends time in jail for manslaughter, while the dead man's family gets moved to the 1%; but we all know none of that will happen.

I guess I assumed that officers have some kind of gun training and regular target practice. If the guy was so close there wasn't time to get out the pepper spray, that should be close enough to be able to shoot him where you want.

Why, when facing a single man with a stick, is the gun the first thing to come out? Is that the Anchorage way?
