You won't see Sasha and Malia left behind in a pub.

/The White House has a well-stocked wine cellar and liquor cabinet.
//And probably more than one bar.

"Mr Pickles was also asked about the incident during a BBC News Channel interview, saying: 'I'm very glad that Nancy was missing for only 15 minutes. It could happen to anybody. It must be any family's nightmare.'"

Thankfully the BBC news thought to get the family cat's opinion on the whole situation.

I can think of multiple times where this happened to me or my sisters as kids and it was for longer than 15 minutes.

Conflicting feelings here. Obviously child abandonment is bad, but he's a conservative, so it's ok.

Can anyone help explain why it's actually the fault of liberals and druggie scum?

That's is some top notch protective service they have there.

How can they be protecting him and his family members if at least one of the family members is not kept track of? Sounds like one of them is due for a sacking.

I'm unimpressed with the family bodyguards, personally. Can you imagine the Secret Service letting one of the Obamas' children get left behind somewhere?

...because it would be too much for either of the childs parents to take responsibility for their own kids? then again that is the tory way - cast about for someone to take the blame the moment you get caught with your thumb up your ass.

curious to know why the CPS hasn't been called in to investigate further - as they most certainly would if someone who wasn't landed gentry got pissed up in a pub and abandoned their kids there.

Subby must be American because it was a "pub". Pubs are not exactly bars. You can drink alcohol in a pub but its a place for all ages. Bars are not. Dumb subby.

By the way, show me a parent who hasn't forgotten or lost their child at least once.

The last government had a Mr. Balls in the cabinet. His wife was a government minister too, but for some reason decided against taking his name when they married.

Was she immediately raped murdered dismembered and sent back to her family? After all, you left a child of 8 years alone for a 'quarter hour' or fifteen freaking minutes in a public place. Isn't that what is supposed to happen?

Did anyone consider for an instant that she wasn't done with her beer? Leaving half a beer at a pub could be considered a criminal offense.

biatch just needs to learn how to chug the last half when your Dad is ready to leave.

Since this happened in the UK, she would probably be subject to "tosh" or "mumblepeg," or some other British term that Americans are rather hazy about.

try bringing your crotchfruit into my local (the effra hall) and chances are you'll be going home in a pram too. pubs are for grownups. go to McDonalds and take a hipflask if you're too cheap to hire a babysitter.

Alas, Mr. Giles is no longer with us, or else there'd be a gently mocking cartoon in the Daily Mail on the subject by the Dear Old Commie. I can see it in my mind's eye--Giles Junior holding hands with a teary-eyed little girl and tugging at Mr. Gile's sleeve saying:

"Don't look now but I believe the Prime Minister left a little something behind ...."

Ah, Mr. Giles, we shall not see your like again.

Well, not soon at any rate. Few cartoonists have been able to sympathetically yet realistically portray both Aristocrats and hooligans, the Great and Good and the small and inoffensive.

I was referring specifically to the protective services that were with them at the time. Not if these parents were blameless when they took their kids to a bar because Brits are drunkards and have pubs every few metres and would never be caught dead going to a restaurant. But I will follow your diversion from the topic and say that the parents were wrong taking the kids anyplace that intimate. He is the Prime Minister of one of the most powerful countries on the planet and he thinks going to some dive where somebody can just reach out and snuff him or his family was a good idea? Makes about as much sense as Billybob making his stops at McDonalds on his morning run.

But what the US president and his family have as protection is of course completely over the top compared to any other country.

I am not saying it is not necessary, but the US is the exception, not the norm.

I think in my country (The Netherlands) the prime minister doesn't even have any protection normally. There are government ministers who go to work on their bicycle.
