Republicans are experts at getting people to vote against their own interests. They aren't going to change their policies, but they are going to try and convince those groups that they are good for them.

As for the Hispanics, if they could tone down the immigration rhetoric a little, they'd be okay. Significant portions of the demographic are social conservatives. Maybe support some kind of better path to citizenhood, particularly for illegals with legal family here.

It wouldn't be perfect, but it would sway some of the borderline voters which is what the GOP really needs, and it doesn't compromise their core as much it could. I'd almost believe them if they started touting those things. Wouldn't vote for them, but I might believe they were trying.
